Borussia Dortmund win WOW Virtual Bundesliga Club championship 2026
Borussia Dortmund have won the WOW Virtual Bundesliga (VBL) title for the first time.
At XPERION in Hamburg, a Dortmund team consisting of players Francesco ‘BVB_Virgil’ Allocca, Dennis ‘BVB_Denninho’ Malcherczyk, Luca ‘LucaFIFA72’ Weber and Lucas 'BVB_Lucas' Geerken prevailed in a thrilling final against FC Bayern Munich. The game was played on EA SPORTS FC 26 in ‘Ultimate Team’ mode.

Dortmund finished second in the overall regular season table, thereby qualifying directly for the final tournament. In the knockout stages, Dortmund beat FC Schalke 04, SC Paderborn 07 and Borussia Mönchengladbach.
The team were presented with the VBL championship trophy by Felix Rentschler, Head of Virtual Bundesliga.
"Congratulations to the entire Borussia Dortmund team. The exciting final tournament with many close matches was a reflection of this season with its new competition format: five different Showdown winners and a total of 29 clubs that qualified for at least one offline Showdown this season are proof of the high level of performance in the league," he said.
"Many thanks to all participating clubs and their players, as well as to our partners EA SPORTS, for their commitment to the further development of the competition."
The VBL Club Championship is a Virtual Bundesliga competition organised by the DFL Deutsche Fußball Liga. During the regular season, 35 clubs from the Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 competed for a place in the final. The 16 best clubs after the five Showdowns and the playoffs competed in the final tournament on 7 and 8 March for a prize pot of €87,500.
As in previous years, players qualify for the German singles championship via the VBL Club Championship by WOW. The VBL Open by WOW playoffs will be held on 28 and 29 March and represent the last chance to qualify for the VBL Grand Final by WOW.

Following an online phase from 7 to 9 April, the knockout stage of the VBL Grand Final will also be held as an offline event at XPERION in Hamburg from 18 to 19 April.
