Kane: "Scoring goals is the main reason I'm here"
The star signing was understandably delighted after netting twice in a 3-1 win over Augsburg in his first Bundesliga appearance in Munich. bundesliga.com rounds up the post-match reaction...
Harry Kane: "I came into the side and want to help the team in all aspects. Scoring goals is the main reason that I'm here. It was great to get a couple today. I had another chance I could have finished, but overall I'm delighted with the result and to be able to contribute to that.
"It was a really good one. Our first home match of the season. We wanted to be sure that we'd take the three points. I think we had some really good phases in the match. Phonzy [Davies] has fantastic speed and laid a great ball on. I just tried to get it over the keeper. I could see in the corner of my eye that he was rushing out. I kind of tried to use my toes a bit to lift the ball over him. Thank God it worked out well.
"Every day we are learning more about one another in training and in every match we play. We have fantastic quality in the team. We are all helping each other. I have only been here for a few weeks and love the chemistry we have created together. That will get better with every match."
Leon Goretzka: "Harry Kane is a world-class footballer and a fantastic person. You can sense his aura in the dressing room right away, and he is going to help us so much. He will be a key player right from the start and is an absolutely superb addition for us."
Thomas Tuchel: "We aren't performing in the very impressive way we are in training. You need a little bit of luck and goals like our first today. In the second half, we were calmer and more precise. We created a lot of chances, but only scored one goal in the second half, unfortunately. We could have scored some more. I think the focus has to be on the way we have improved, and our increased stability. Two matches and two wins - that is deserved."
