Bayer Leverkusen sign Czech Republic forward Adam Hlozek
Bayer Leverkusen have completed the signing of highly rated Sparta Prague and Czech Republic forward Adam Hlozek.
Hlozek, who can play on either wing or as a second striker, produced 12 goals and 15 assists in 47 competitive appearances for Sparta in 2021/22. The 19-year-old has signed a deal to stay at the BayArena through to 30 June 2027.
"It's a great thing to have been signed now by one of the best clubs in the Bundesliga," the teenager told bayer04.de. "I've always watched Leverkusen in recent weeks. The team plays wonderful football. Being a part of this team fills me with great hope and expectation."
Hlozek made his senior debut in October 2018, aged 16. He went on to register 40 goals and 36 assists in 132 games for Sparta, winning the 2019/20 Czech Cup and top scoring in the 2020/21 Fortuna Liga with 15 strikes. The teenager is a 14-time senior international, and played in the same Czech side as Leverkusen's Patrik Schick at the rearranged 2020 UEFA Euros.
"Adam is a player who can create a real goal threat as a second striker from a central position or coming in from the wings," said Bayer sporting director Simon Rolfes. "His versatility, his power and, above all, his finishing will give our attack more variation."
