
Alphonso Davies back on the training pitch for Bayern Munich
Bayern Munich left-back Alphonso Davies has returned to light training after recovering from an injury sustained on international duty with Canada over the summer.
The 20-year-old damaged ligaments in his left ankle during Canada’s Gold Cup preparations four weeks ago, and has since been undergoing rehabilitation in Munich.
Davies was back out on the training pitch at Bayern’s Säbener Straße base on Tuesday, however, and completed some running exercises as he bids to regain fitness ahead of the 2021/22 season.

The Bayern No.19 has made 84 competitive appearances for the club since his arrival from the Vancouver Whitecaps in 2019, and made the left-back position his own in a stunning breakout campaign in 2019/20.
He faces even stiffer competition for a starting berth under new coach Julian Nagelsmann this season, with Lucas Hernandez, who is currently injured, and summer signing Omar Richards both candidates for the position.
The latter is likely to be given the nod in Bayern’ first competitive game of the season when the kick-off the 2021/22 Bundesliga campaign away to Borussia Mönchengladbach on Friday 13 August.
