Schlotterbeck's header is short which allows Undav to intercept the ball before laying it off to Demirović, who has the easy job of placing it into an empty net with his first touch of the game.

Manuel Baum on facing Stuttgart

"Stuttgart still have a lot to play for in the league. They want to get back into the Champions League, but they also want to continue their journey in the DFB Cup. Looking at their squad, they also have one or two players who are competing for a place at the World Cup, so it's unlikely that the loss to Porto will cause a dip in form."
camera-photo

Stuttgart suffer European exit

It wasn't to be for Sebastian Hoeneß' men in the Europa League as they crashed out away to Porto losing 2-0 on the night (4-1 agg). The Swabians threw everything they had to try and overturn the first-leg deficit, but a goal from William Gomes against the run of play long preceeded a rocket from Victor Froholdt, before Nikolas Nartey's dismissal saw things go from bad to worse for VfB, who will now fully focus on their league campaign and the last four of the DFB Cup.

WWK-Arena fortress

Augsburg have avoided defeat in all seven home matches since Baum returned as head coach (W4, D3). In fact, they're unbeaten in their last eight home games (W5. D3), equalling the club record set in 2011/12.

History favours Stuttgart

Stuttgart have won their last six competitive meetings with Augsburg and are unbeaten in nine (W6, D3). Sebastian Hoeneß, meanwhile, has recorded more career wins against the Bavarians than any other team he's faced as a head coach of Hoffenheim and Stuttgart (W9, D1, L1).

Cross masters

Augsburg and Stuttgart have scored 10 goals from crosses after 26 matches, with only Borussia Dortmund faring better (11). Among players, Stuttgart's Jamie Leweling leads the way for crosses resulting in goals (four). Augsburg's Dimitris Giannoulis has three.
