information
xGoals
The xGoals value of a club is calculated from the sum of all goal probabilities (goals and shots on goal) of that team. During a match, it’s easy to see whether the club is performing better than expected (goals > xGoals) - or maybe even higher (xGoals > goals).
But as long as this one stays at 2-1, there's always a chance for Augsburg to snatch a point.

REUS FIRES WIDE!

Dortmund break again with Bellingham down the left and the ball comes across the box to Reus, who fires wide from close range. It should at least be getting that one on target.
67'

HAZARD OFF THE POST!

On his 200th Bundesliga appearance, Hazard comes within inches of scoring. Reus plays Bellingham down the right and he puts the ball across for Hazard to latch onto. He takes a touch to compose himself in front of goal and beats Gikiewicz with his finish, but his effort clips the outside of the post and goes behind.
66'

OXFORD CLOSE!

The English defender is up highest to meet a corner whipped in from the left, but he can't glance his header on goal from close range. Dortmund looking nervy from set-pieces here.

ON THE COUNTER

The away side aren't looking their best at the back, but they're doing well on the counter-attack as Maier slots Pedersen in down the left and into the Dortmund area. He fires a shot at the near post, but Kobel stays big to parry that one away.
57'

HUGE CHANCES FOR DORTMUND!

Wolf has time and space to smash a volley at goal from all of 25 yards. It's a superb effort from the right and Gikiewicz is forced to save. He parries it wide to the left of goal, but Reus is there on the rebound but can only smash the ball off the Augsburg crossbar from close range. A huge chance to double the lead!

A BANG FROM BRANDT!

Julian Brandt used all the power he had in his left foot to fire home his second goal of the season.
53'

ZEQIRI BOOKED

51'

FIRST CHANGE

Hazard comes on to replace Meunier, with Wolf moving back to right-back.
51'

BRANDT FIRES HOME!

The home crowd erupts as Brandt fires Dortmund back into the lead early in the second half. The home side break down the left with Wolf, who finds Reus in the middle. He plays the ball across to Brandt on the right and he uses his first touch to push the ball onto his left past a defender before smashing a shot at goal with his left, which is too powerful for Gikiewicz to keep out.

Wolf and Brandt have switched sides here as we approach the end of the first half. Just looking to find new ways through the Augsburg defence.

ACROBATIC EFFORT!

Wolf is played in down the right by Brandt and lobs the ball to the back post where Malen is in some space. He's running away from goal to reach it, but still goes for an overhead kick! It doesn't come off at all, sadly, but that confidence shouldn't be lost by the Dutchman.

HERE WE GO!

The ball is rolling in Dortmund for our Saturday afternoon fixture with Augsburg in town!
Kick-off!

LOUD AND PROUD!

41,000 are in the Signal Iduna Park and the noise is incredible in Dortmund as the players make their way out onto the pitch here.

TALE OF THE TAPE!

A win for Dortmund today will take them within one point of Bayern atop the Bundesliga, who are in action tomorrow against Frankfurt. For Augsburg, claiming a point here today would be a successful result and would help them clinch some vital breathing room between themselves and the bottom three.

WATCH: HAALAND'S DREAM DEBUT

He's not involved today, but this fixture gives us a chance to look back at one of the most explosive Bundesliga debuts in the league's history from Dortmund's star man, Erling Haaland. A 23-minute second-half hat-trick from the bench? Challenge accepted...

POTENTIAL LINE-UP

With Malen the only out-and-out attacker in Dortmund's starting line-up, there could be some new faces joining him up top. It looks like Reus and Wolf will be the closest to him. Whether it's a three-man midfield behind, as we've come to expect in recent weeks, remains to be seen. There's potential for a switch to 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3, with Haaland missing and Hazard on the bench.

AUGSBURG'S SLOW START

Markus Weinzierl's side have yet to spark into life this season. The league's lowest scorers (2) did pick up a big win over Gladbach a couple of weeks ago, but a 3-0 defeat Freiburg last time out brought them crashing down to earth. Augsburg have yet to score a goal away from home this season but have five points, keeping them clear of the relegation places for now.

HOME ADVANTAGE?

Dortmund have won all three of their home games this Bundesliga season, despite conceding twice in each one. Meanwhile, Augsburg have won only one of 10 Bundesliga games in Dortmund (D3, L6).

WATCH: OUT ONTO THE PITCH

Take the walk out onto the Signal Iduna Park, where as many as 41,000 fans will be in attendance - the most since before the start of the pandemic.

DORTMUND TEAM NEWS

A week of rest hasn't proved enough for Haaland, with Moukoko and Hazard waiting on the bench with Malen leading the attack alone. Reus made his return on Tuesday and starts once again with Reyna still sidelined. Dahoud is suspended after being shown red against his former side, and also left the win over Sporting early in the first half due to injury. Brandt starts in his stead, with Wolf also in from the off.

AUGSBURG TEAM NEWS

Niederlechner and Vargas have been Weinzierl's preferred front two, but neither start today with Cordova and Zeqiri preferred in attack. Vargas is out completely, and he joins a lengthy list of injury concerns, with Iago missing with a shoulder complaint. Pedersen replaces him on the left, while this game will come too soon for Finbogasson and Uduokhai.
