Wout Weghorst hasn't been quite as productive, though his seven goals account for nearly half of Wolfsburg's 18-strike tally after 16 Bundesliga matches. The Dutchman is without a goal in his last three, while the Wolves have only netted six in games in which their go-to guy for goals hasn't managed to find the net.

Bayern interim coach yesterday confirmed that 19-goal top scorer Robert Lewandowski will have surgery on a niggling groin problem, albeit after today's game. That's bad news for Wolfsburg: the Poland striker has scored 20 goals in 17 Bundesliga outings against the Wolves, including 18 in his last eight competitive meetings with the Auto City Club, with five of them falling in one historic NINE-MINUTE spell back in September 2015...
WHERE IS THE BITE?
Wolfsburg were this Bundesliga season's last remaining unbeaten team before the Matchday 10 loss to Dortmund, and have only taken seven points from a possible 18 since. Although they have beaten second-placed Gladbach and held fifth-in-the-table Schalke to a draw in their previous two, the Wolves are still down in ninth - six points adrift of the top four.
OVER TO BAYERN
Hofffenheim did Bayern a favour by beating Hoffenheim on Friday. That result means only a heavy defeat to Wolfsburg would see the defending champions wintering outside the top four. A win, plus favourable results, elsewhere, could take them to within a point of the summit at the halfway stage.
