LATE DRAMA TO COME?

We're into the final few minutes here and both sides are still looking to score, and it'll be very important whichever team scores next...

PLEA FIRES WIDE

The Frenchman does well with his back to goal under a challenge from Gbamin to keep possession, before turning towards goal inside the box. He shoots with his left foot across the goal, but blazes his effort wide.

ONISIWO CHANGING THE MOOD

The substitute has come on and had an immediate impact in this game, and now it's Mainz who are on top. It had just looked as if Gladbach might secure a top four spot for the evening, but there's still something to play for here...
72'

ONISIWO GOES CLOSE

The substitute immediately makes an impact as he is played in behind the Foals defence but he couldn't angle his shot on target, instead firing it just past the near post of Sommer's goal.

GLADBACH TAKE THE LEAD!

It took a set-piece to break the deadlock and it goes the away side's way. The corner goes short to Hazard who swings it into the back post, where Strobl is on hand to hit it back into the mixer and straight to Elvedi, who pokes home with ease beyond Müller's reach.

STRUGGLING TO FIND THEIR FLOW

Neither side has been able to put their stamp on this game. Good pressing and some mistakes in passing have left each side disappointed to have not made more of the game so far. Changes may be coming sooner rather than later.

CLOSING ON THE BREAK

Still absolutely nothing to separate these sides so far. WIll take a moment of brilliance or a mistake to bring us the first goal, it looks like. Both sides cancelling each other out very well and both defences can certainly be pleased with how this first half has been played.

MAINZ FLUFFING HALF CHANCES

A couple of half chances here for Mainz as Öztunali and Martin shoot at goal. The first effort stings the palms of Sommer, but Martin's strike from the left corner of the edge of the box goes high and wide of goal. Still, the home side are keeping good pressure on Gladbach for now.
27'

GBAMIN TAKES AIM

A rare shot on goal from Mainz in this game as Jean-Phillipe Gbamin fires from 25 yards towards goal, but it doesn't dip enough before reaching the Gladbach goal, and Sommer watches it sail over.
22'

GLADBACH ON TOP, BUT NOT BY MUCH

It's a game that hasn't produced many chances since Florian Müller's miraculous trip save, but the visitors have had the best of the play so far. Lars Stindl has been busy through the middle, as to has Thorgan Hazard on the right wing. Plea is asking for more of the ball on the left but has yet to see his fair share...

MAINZ SETTLING IN

The home side are now finding their way into this game after a slightly nervy opening. Niakhate has had Hazard in his pocket in the opening minutes.
6'

END-TO-END START

Both teams getting forward well in the opening moments here. The Foals have had the opportunities on goal, but Mainz have been able to push forward into the Gladbach box as well. Lively one here...
3'

TRIPLE SAVE FROM MÜLLER!

Incredible goalkeeping to save the day for Mainz as his defence in front of him is nowhere to be found for Florian Müller. Lars Stindl shot at the near post with the first effort, and then again after Müller had parried the ball back to him. Müller saved that one as well and then parried Zakaria's follow-up away in a superb 10 seconds.

UNDERWAY IN MAINZ

Gladbach in all green this evening as we get the game underway. Plenty of travelling support for the away side in Mainz, in a sold out OPEL Arena.
