Schalke striker Simon Terodde sets new Bundesliga 2 goals record
Schalke striker Simon Terodde has set a new all-time scoring record of 154 goals in Bundesliga 2.
The 33-year-old has been in astonishing form this season since joining the Royal Blues from league rivals Hamburg over the summer, and has now found the net 12 times in 14 appearances in 2021/22.
Terodde pulled level with former Hannover striker Dieter Schatzschneider on 153 Bundesliga 2 goals, a best-mark that has stood since 1990, in Schalke's Matchday 9 victory at home to Ingolstadt.
He then endured a four-game goal drought before finding the net again with a diving header away to Werder Bremen on Matchday 14 to pull clear as the division's outright all-time best scorer.
In addition to his 12 for the Royal Blues, Terodde registered 24 goals for Hamburg last season, as well as 29 for Cologne (2018/19), 25 for VfB Stuttgart (2016/17), 41 for Bochum (2014-2016) and 23 for Union Berlin (2011-2014).
