Bundesliga to demonstrate support for UEFA Women's EURO 2029 bid on Matchday 11
German football clubs across the country – from the Bundesliga down to amateur level – will join forces between 21 and 23 November to show their support for the German Football Association’s bid to host UEFA Women’s EURO 2029, with European football's governing body set to announce the tournament hosts on 3 December.
The DFB submitted an official bid to host the competition in August 2025. Following the German national team’s scintillating displays at UEFA Women’s EURO 2025 in Switzerland, and with the majority of Christian Wück’s Germany squad plying their trade in leagues operated by the DFL, the aim this weekend is to demonstrate the enthusiasm for the bid throughout the German football community.
The eight potential host cities – Cologne, Dortmund, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Hanover, Leipzig, Munich and Wolfsburg – are all home to clubs under the umbrella of DFL e.V. Between Friday and Sunday, the 36 Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 clubs intend to show their support in a variety of ways.
The captain of each team will be given a special armband to wear, the corner flags will be given a makeover, and a number of other activities will take place before the games get under way.
The joint initiative is intended to serve as a strong statement of unity and enthusiasm for the 2029 tournament, ahead of the UEFA committee’s announcement in early December.
