Arminia Bielefeld part ways with head coach Mitch Kniat
After three years in charge, Mitch Kniat is stepping down as Arminia Bielefeld head coach. The mutual decision was made following an end-of-season analysis by the club.
Kniat took over at Bielefeld in 2023, led them back to Bundesliga 2, and even took them to the DFB Cup final. Most recently, under the 40-year-old, they secured their survival in the league after a turbulent season. Assistant coaches Dani Jara and Janik Steringer are also leaving the club along with Kniat.
"We would like to thank Mitch and his team for their work over the past three years. They have been very intense and formative years in which we have achieved a great deal together and thrilled the city and the club with outstanding successes," explains Bielefeld sporting director Michael Mutzel.

In a statement, Kniat added: "We have experienced many emotional and intense moments over the past three years. The promotion as champions and reaching the DFB Cup final with Arminia Bielefeld will certainly remain unforgettable. Securing our place in the league this season is an achievement we can all be proud of."
"Anyone who knows me knows that I wish the club and this football-mad community all the best, and I'm sure we'll meet again in the world of football."
