Following the DFB Cup first-round match against Union, which the Lions lost 4-2 after leading twice, Braunschweig once again host visitors from Berlin. Hertha have made a positive impression with two wins at the start of the league season, sit second in the league table and have also progressed in the cup after beating Saarbrücken on penalties.
