Magdeburg 0-2 Eintracht Braunschweig

Eintracht stretched their unbeaten run to six games with a victory over Magdeburg that left the hosts in the relegation zone. After a first half of very few chances, the visitors hit the front not long after the restart. Just when it seemed Immanuel Pherai was ready to pounce for Braunschweig, substitute Amara Conde got in ahead of his opponent to knock the ball past his own goalkeeper. Cristiano Piccini then missed a decent chance to equalise as Christian Titz's team probed for openings. It wasn't to be for Magdeburg, however, and they were put to the sword at the last when Bryan Henning netted for 2-0 to send Braunschweig into provisional tenth spot.

Greuther Fürth 2-2 Hansa Rostock
Goals: 1-0 Hrgota (20’), 1-1 Fröde (57’), 2-1 Ache (60’), 2-2 Malone (90’+3)

Fürth were left frustrated on Friday evening after conceding a late equaliser against 10-man Rostock. The Clover Leaves took the lead in a hard-fought game through captain Branimir Hrgota’s thunderous left-footed drive, but they were pegged back just before the hour mark when Lukas Fröde headed in from a corner. Parity was short-lived, however, as the hosts restored their advantage with the next attack, Ragnar Ache nodding in from Simon Asta’s right-wing cross. Fürth appeared to be on course for all three points when Rostock striker John Verhoek was sent off shortly afterwards, but the away side snatched a point in stoppage time when Ryan Malone held his nerve to convert from the penalty spot.

Fortuna Düsseldorf 0-1 Nuremberg
Goal: 0-1 Duah (47’)

Nuremberg picked up their first win under new coach Markus Weinzierl to end a run of three straight defeats by beating Fortuna Düsseldorf 1-0. Kwadwo Duah scored the only goal of the game early in the second half, doing just enough to turn in Castrop’s cross as he fell to the ground. It came against the run of play, with Fortuna wasting chances in the first half, but it gave the Bavarians some second-half momentum which saw them through to a precious win and three priceless points.

Hannover 2-0 Arminia Bielefeld
Goals: 1-0 Teuchert (4'), 2-0 Nielsen (86')

Hannover claimed all three points by bookending the visit of Bielefeld with goals four minutes into the game and four minutes from the end. Cedric Teuchert provided the opener, playing a neat one-two with Havard Nielsen on the edge of the box before curling home his fifth goal of the season. Nielsen initially thought he'd added a second on the stroke of half time, but his effort was ruled out after the referee consulted the pitch-side monitor. The Norwegian eventually had his goal, however, as he Nielsen headed home late on to wrap up all three points for his team.

Paderborn 3-0 Sandhausen
Goals: 1-0 Pieringer (10'), 2-0 Leipertz (47'), 3-0 Heuer (54')

Paderborn raced out of the traps on Sunday, needing just 10 minutes to open the scoring against Sandhausen. Marvin Pieringer was the man who provided the opener, with his seventh goal of the campaign to pull the Paderborn No.9 level with Robert Glatzel at the top of the league's scoring charts. Robert Leipertz put the home side 2-0 up just two minutes after the break with his fifth of the season, with Paderborn in complete control. That control soon turned into dominance as Jannis Heuer flicked in a corner seven minutes later as Lukas Kwasniok's team breezily moved into second-place, just two points off top spot.

Kaiserslautern 0-3 Jahn Regensburg
Goals: 0-1 Albers (8'), 0-2 Albers (57'), 0-3 Osei Owusu (85')

In Kaiserslautern, it was the visitors who took and early lead thanks to Andreas Albers' eighth minute effort - his fourth goal of the campaign. Albers then doubled both his and his team's tally early in the second period - raising highest at the near post to head Charalambos Makridis' corner beyond Andreas Luthe and into the back of the net. Prince Osei Owusu added a third with five minutes to play to wrap up all three points for the away team. The victory moves Regensburg up into 11th, while defeat stretches Lautern's winless run to seven matches but they do still remain in the top half.

Holstein Kiel 3-1 Heidenheim
Goals: 0-1 Thomalla (31'), 1-1 Skrzybski (45'), 2-1 Skrzybski (51'), 3-1 Okyere Wriedt (66')

Looking to keep pace at the top of the table, Heidenheim took the lead shortly after the half hour mark through Denis Thomalla's tap in from close range. The 30-year-old was given a simple finish thanks to Jan-Niklas Beste's ball across the face of goal from the left that perfectly teed up his teammate in front of goal. Kiel hauled themselves level on the stroke of half time, however, as Steven Skrzybski rattled home an exquisite right-footed volley from the edge of the box after Heidenheim failed to clear a corner to safety. Skrzybski added a second six minutes after the break - this time turning home a far scrappier finish - before Kwasi Okyere Wriedt added a third to turn the game fully on its head.
