TERODDE THE DIFFERENCE!

Simon Terodde's brace takes Schalke up to sixth, within four points of leaders Jahn Regensburg. They rode their luck, but the Royal Blues won't be too concerned about that. Profligate Hansa slip to 15th.

JUST WIDE!

Pieringer lines one up from distance. It's travelling and takes a deflection, but sails just the wrong side of the Hansa upright. Schalke almost there...

FRAISL DOES HIS JOB

Omladic tries to find Verhoek with a searching ball into the danger zone, but Fraisl is quick to pluck it out of the air before Hansa's top scorer can do much about it. One rush of blood aside, he's looked the part as the Schalke No.1

DOUBLE CHANGE

Haris Duljevic and Kevin Schumacher are on for the final 10 minutes or so. Can the wing duo ruffle Schalke's feathers in the closing stages?

TERODDE EDGING CLOSER

Terodde won't be making history as the Bundesliga 2's all-time record scorer today. He makes way on 152 strikes, one short of Schatzschneider's gold standard. Rodrigo Zalazar also heads off, with Marvin Pieringer and Florian Flick entering the fray.

PENALTY NOT GIVEN

The referee points to the spot, signalling a handball against Ouwejan as the reason. After it goes to the VAR, though, the decision is overruled. More elbow than hand...

xGoals
The xGoals value of a club is calculated from the sum of all goal probabilities (goals and shots on goal) of that team. During a match, it’s easy to see whether the club is performing better than expected (goals > xGoals) - or maybe even higher (xGoals > goals).

SIGHTER

Behrens takes aim from 20 yards, but it's meat and drink for Fraisl. Hansa are being restricted to half chances, unlike in the first half where they created a hatful of presentable opporunities. Oh, how they've been punished for their profligacy!
62'

FRESH LEGS

Svante Ingelsson's on in the Hansa midfield, while the burly Ridge Munsy enters the fray in attack. The visitors desperately need a lift!
57'

OFF THE POST!

Ouwejan picks out Terodde with another trademark cross. The Schalke man turns it goalwards, but the ball comes back off the inside of the upright and Kolke shovels clear. One more goal for Terodde to claim the outright Bundesliga 2 record, remember!

TERODDE STRIKES AGAIN!

It's another poacher's goal for Terodde. Aydin does really well to take Hansa keeper Kolke out of the equation. He puts it on a plate for Schalke's Mr. Reliable, who can't miss.

CHANCES AT BOTH ENDS

Terrific entertainment to start the second half in Rostock! Salazar makes Kolke work, before Itakura miscues a header from a corner. Hansa go up the other end with Bahn, but Fraisl’s out to clear.

TERODDE STRIKES AGAIN!

So harsh on Hansa. Malick Thiaw launches a diagonal pass up from the back. Thomas Ouwejan collects Bülter's flick-on and pings a precision-perfect cross towards the near post, where Terodde directs it over the goalkeeper and into the far corner. That's his ninth goal of the campaign - two more for the all-time Bundesliga 2 record!

ANOTHER OPPORTUNITY!

Fraisl comes out of his goal, but doesn't take the ball. Verhoek fails to feed a teammate with the loose ball, though. Big chance wasted.

AERIAL THREAT

Schalke fail to deal with another Hansa ball into the box. Verhoek meets Omladic's delivery, but doesn't trouble Fraisl.

HALF CHANCE

Hansa come again with Behrens. A cross is lumped towards Omladic, but he can't direct his header on target. Schalke struggling to get a foothold in the game.

BUSY BEE

Fraisl's tested again, this time by Omladic's well-struck effort. The Austrian looks a commanding and reassuring presence in the Schalke goal.
21'

WARNING SHOT

Speculative from Rodrigo Zalazar, but encouraging all the same. The Eintracht Frankfurt loanee fires a yard over from distance.
15'

DISALLOWED GOAL

Rizzuto's strike takes a wicked deflection on its way past Fraisl. Baxter Bahn got the touch, but was clearly offside. Hansa comfortably on top right now...
11'

WHAT A CHANCE!

Fraisl comes out on top in a one-on-one with Omladic, the Austrian justifying his inclusion between the Schalke posts with a firm block. The chance is still on, but Verhoek completely miscues with the goal gaping.
10'

OVER FROM BEHRENS

Hansa make progress up their right-hand side. It's worked into the middle for Hanno Behrens, who fires a venomous shot over from 20 yards.

YELLOW PERIL

The first booking goes to Hansa's Calogero Rizzuto for a rather feisty sliding challenge on Dominick Drexler.

TERODDE NEARING MILESTONE GOAL

It's only a matter of time before Schalke's Simon Terodde breaks the record for most Bundesliga 2 goals. He's scored eight times already this season, and 150 all told. Three more, and he'll level Dieter Schatzschneider in the league annals.

FRAISL CALLED INTO ACTION

FRAISL DEBUT

There was a sneaking suspicion Ralf Fährmann would drop to the bench for this one, and so it proves. Martin Fraisl starts in the Schalke goal, with various media outlets reporting yesterday that the Austrian is the club's new No.1
