Full-time: Hertha Berlin 2-1 Greuther Fürth

After 90 minutes of play, Hertha beat Fürth 2-1. In the first half, dangerous moments are few and far between, with not many chances created. The few clear opportunities, however, fall to the side at the bottom of the table, with Futkeu and Klaus each missing chances to take the lead. Hertha were then reduced to ten men from the 32nd minute onwards, after Brekalo pulled off a last-ditch foul on Klaus just outside the box. In the second half, Fürth had chance after chance, but the Berliners soon took the lead through Eichhorn. Cuisance extended the lead to 2-0 in the closing stages, with Futkeu's consolation goal coming too late. As a result, Fürth must accept a painful and unnecessary defeat and now find themselves completely with their backs against the wall.

No danger

Ltaief and Green work their way down the left flank to the edge of the box, but the latter gets held up and loses the ball. That will probably have been that.

Ernst to the rescue!

Almost the 2-2! Hrgota dances past Karbownik on the right side of the penalty area in a very tight space and then shoots. He aims for the bottom right corner, Ernst dives lightning-fast and makes a superb save, pushing the ball out for a corner. The resulting set piece comes to nothing.

Stunning goal from Cuisance!

Hertha put the lid on it! Karbownik has the ball on the left flank, drives towards the penalty area and then plays it centrally to Cuisance, who is lurking on the edge of the box. The midfielder takes the pass first time and fires the ball into the top-left corner, just under the crossbar.

For Hertha, Klemens comes on for Eichhorn, while for Fürth, Keller and Will make way for Green and Srbeny.

Wasteful in front of goal

Fürth should really be in a commanding lead here, instead the Franconians are chasing the game. The visitors have to take at least a point today, otherwise staying up on the final matchday will be extremely difficult.

Higl with a header

The substitute finds himself unmarked centrally in the box, heading from seven metres, but his attempt goes narrowly wide of the right post by centimetres.
63'

GOOOOOOAL!

Just like that, Hertha take the lead with ten men! Reese picks up pace down the right flank and then plays it into the centre to Eichhorn. The youngster has plenty of space, runs towards the penalty area and casually leaves Münz for dead with a simple body feint. After that, the youngster is one-on-one with Prüfrock and finishes from ten metres into the top left corner of the net.

51'

Fürth on the front foot

Hrgota plays in Klaus on the left side of the box, who has plenty of space and then looks to pick out the lurking Futkeu in the five-metre area with a cross. 49'

Klaus has a go..

Keller covers ground in midfield, then cuts inside before the penalty area and plays it across to Klaus. Half-time: Hertha 0-0 Fürth

After 45 minutes played, there is nothing to separate these sides. It has been an evenly matched game with few chances created. The few clear opportunities, however, have fallen to the Clover Leaves, with Futkeu and Klaus each missing the chance to take the lead. Hertha have been playing with ten men since the 32nd minute, after Brekalo brought down Klaus with a cynical foul just outside the box, resulting in a red card. Nevertheless, everything is still absolutely up for grabs in the second half.

Off the bar!

The subsequent free kick after the foul on Klaus is extremely dangerous! The fouled player takes matters into his own hands from 22 yards in a central position and hammers the ball with full force into the crossbar. Ernst was not going to get there...

Red card for Hertha!

Hertha are down to 10 men! Their own corner kick backfires as Fürth counter-attack quickly. Klaus advances centrally one-on-one towards Ernst's goal. Brekalo gives chase and catches the Fürth player from behind. Bacher doesn't hesitate for a second and immediately produces the red card!
31'

Tight angle

On the other side, Cuisance lines up a shot from the right side of the penalty area. Prüfrock is there at the near post and makes a good save, though.
30'

Wide of the mark

Klaus gets free on the edge of the penalty area and goes for goal, aiming for the bottom left corner, but the ball whistles just narrowly past the post.
29'

No goal

Reese crosses from the right into the box and finds Cuisance at the far post. The midfielder brings the ball down well, holds off three Fürth players and finishes from 10 yards perfectly into the bottom right corner. However, the flag goes up immediately afterwards, as Cuisance was clearly offside when Reese delivered the cross.
27'

Too imprecise

Klaus crosses from the right into the box, but can only find the head of Eitschberger at the far post.
24'

Alert defending

From a right-sided free-kick, Kolbe stays switched on to the danger and clears the ball in the nick of time ahead of the lurking Ziereis.
19'

Fürth in possession

The visitors are keeping the ball moving well through their own ranks, with Hertha currently unable to get out of their own half and doing a lot of chasing.
camera-photo

Hesitant start

So far it has been an evenly-matched affair, with both teams largely cancelling each other out. The focus is clearly on the defensive side of the game, however the visitors have already had a real gilt-edged chance through Futkeu.
15'

No danger

Brekalo whips a corner in from the left, but Fürth's players in the box are alert and clear the danger with ease.
13'

Eitschberger stays alert

The right-back clears the ball into touch following a foot race against Klaus.
11'

Corner from the right

Hrgota whips the ball in with cut from the right, but the hosts are first to the ball to clear the danger from their own box.
9'

Futkeu narrowly misses

A big chance for the visitors! Keller makes a good run down the left, beating Eitschberger, before finding Futkeu in the centre. The striker brings the ball under control and immediately shoots on the turn from 10 yards out. He aims for the top right corner, but the ball whistles just narrowly past the post.
7'

Safe hands

Reese crosses from the left with the outside of his right boot, but the delivery makes for an easy catch for Prüfrock.
6'

Reese too strong

The captain holds his own against Hrgota on the left flank, putting his body in robustly. Hrgota goes to ground, but it's a fair challenge from the Hertha man.
4'

Who was that to?

On the other side, Will plays a pass up the right flank, but there is not a single teammate anywhere near that area. As a result, the attack comes to nothing and the ball is back in Hertha's possession.
3'

Too much on it

Brekalo is looked for up front, but the pass for him to chase is too long and goes behind for a goal kick to Fürth.
