Full-time: Greuther Fürth 0-2 Holstein Kiel
Kiel secure their first win of the season! The opening goal for the Storks was thoroughly deserved, but afterwards it was almost all Fürth. The home side dominated large portions of the second half, but could hardly create any clear goal-scoring opportunities. Kiel defended strongly and confirmed the win with a second goal right at the climax.

Therkelsen stays cool and scores!
Brilliant goal! Harres plays the through ball at the perfect moment, allowing Therkelsen a clear path to the Fürth goal. He rounds Boevnik, sets himself up nicely and slots it into the net past two sliding Fürth defenders!

Marcel Rapp on facing Fürth
"It's time to secure three points and get settled in the league."
Cvjetinović suffers injury blow
Kiel will have to make do without centre-back Mladen Cvjetinović for the foreseeable future after the 21-year-old suffered a torn syndesmosis ligament in his left ankle during a training session. Cvjetinović will undergo surgery in the coming days.
Traditional duel
Besides the twelve Bundesliga 2 encounters between these sides, they also faced each almost a century ago in the semi-final of the German Championship. In June 1926, Fürth beat Kiel 3-1 in Düsseldorf, and went on to win one of their three championship titles in the final against Hertha.
It's tough at Ronhof
Kiel's only away win at Ronhof was six years ago in September 2019, when they won 3-0.
Balanced
Both teams have met twelve times in Bundesliga 2, and the record is balanced: four wins for Fürth, four draws, four wins for Kiel and 19-19 in goals. In six of these twelve matches, the Storks (Kiel) earned points after falling behind (three wins, three draws).
