Full-time: Hertha 2-3 Hannover
Hannover closed the gap to leaders Darmstadt in dramatic fashion in a five-goal thriller in the capital. Boris Tomiak fired the visitors into an early lead before Benjamin Källman doubled his team’s tally with his 13th of the campaign. After the break, Fabian Reese converted from the spot but it took substitute Noah Weißhaupt just two minutes to restore Hannover’s lead. Julian Eitschberger’s stoppage time goal came too late as Hannover secured a fourth straight win.

Hertha are back in it
It's getting exciting again. Free-kick from Seguin to the far corner of the six-yard box, where Grönning heads the ball back into the middle. Noll parries it forward - and Eitschberger smashes it into the roof of the net from seven metres out.

Barely on, already in
Noah Weißhaupt has been on the pitch for less than two minutes - and he makes it 3-1. Hannover attack down the left again. This time Oudenne finds Aseko Nkili. He plays it across. The ball bounces once, but Weißhaupt drives it with his right foot from 11 metres into the right corner of the goal.

Saad and Kolja Oudenne play a one-two at the left touchline, which leaves Saad completely free in front of goal. He shoots low towards the bottom left corner, but Ernst slides in and saves the ball.

Another shot from the Hertha captain straight away. This time harmless but you can see that Hertha want it more now.

Good shot
Now Hertha finally look dangerous. Reese plays a good through ball on the left to Brekalo. He turns quickly, then fires from seven metres out but Noll collects the ball.
44'
Reese stopped
The Berlin player is sent through, trying to dribble past two opponents centrally. But he stumbles and loses the ball.
41'
Hertha harmless
A failed long-range effort from Reese in the fourth minute - that's all the Berliners have to show for in terms of attempts so far. Hannover already with six shots on goal.

Noll with confidence

Strong header
Another top-quality chance for the visitors. After a corner from the right, Källman gets his head to the ball - and it flies just narrowly past the left post. Ernst would have been powerless there.

40 goals for Hannover
They're now level with Darmstadt as the best attack in the league. 23 away goals is the sole best record.

Harmless
Leopold delivers another free-kick from 35 metres into the penalty area. But this time no one gets a touch, allowing Ernst to collect it.

Provider Yokota
Class from the Japanese player - surprising that it's only his second assist, the first one he provided on Matchday 2 in Düsseldorf was also for Källman.
31'
Källmann is on a roll
He also scored last week and now has seven goals in his last ten matches.
30'
Källmann scores again
That's his 13th goal of the season - and he's now the leading Bundesliga 2 goalscorer this term.
29'
Hannover strike again
What a brilliant combination! Yokota drives down the right, plays a one-two with Aseko Nkili, then lays the ball back for Källman, who slots it home from eight metres out.
28'
Too high
Brekalo crosses from the left corner - but it's so high that nobody can get to the ball.
26'
Dangerous
Hertha want to play out from the back, but the back pass to Ernst is very poor and also too high. Yokota charges in, but Ernst just about manages to clear with his head.

Next free-kick
Almost from the same position as opening goal. But this time without a trick, Neubauer smashes it directly towards goal. This time a Berlin player is there and heads it away.
15'
Good cross
Hannover move quickly down the left side. There, Saad delivers the ball with his right foot into the middle but a Hertha player manages to clear it with a header.
12'
Another lightning start
Just like last week against Kiel and now in three of the five matches since the winter break, Hannover takes the lead before the tenth minute.
11'
Tomiak can do more than penalties
His previous two goals this season and his last four goals in Bundesliga 2 were all scored from the spot. His last goal not from a penalty was in August 2024 for Kaiserslautern - also against Hertha!
10'
Brilliant trick
This free-kick routine was definitely rehearsed and precisely planned. Tomiak makes his run at exactly the right moment. The Hertha defence, on the other hand, reacts incorrectly twice and are caught off guard.

6'
Quiet start
Hannover are trying to build up play from the back, playing a lot around the back, including to the keeper. Hertha are pressing high up the pitch and force an error.
3'
Dangerous
What a goalkeeper error. Hannover's Noll tries to play out from his own penalty area after a back pass - and passes the ball directly to Brekalo's feet. But he is so surprised by this that he squanders the opportunity.
