Cleared off the line
A cross from the left and Zukowski does everything right at the far post, trying to nudge the ball over the line. But Schmidt throws himself in front of the shot and just manages to clear it for a corner.
84'
Triple swap
Sander goes all-in with offensive changes. Bockhorn is back and replaces Michel. Gnaka comes on for Nollenberger and Pesch for Hyryläinen.
82'
Fresh Legs
El Azzouzi looked exhausted and was also on a yellow card. Suso comes on for him. Additionally, Lenz makes his comeback and should shore up the left flank.
80'
Final Boss
Magdeburg are playing a really good game here and keep being thwarted by Fortuna's keeper. Statistically, Kastenmeier has prevented 1.8 more goals than would have been expected.

Ulrich from distance
The ball comes from the right into the middle to Ulrich, who manages to hold his ground. His left-footed shot from the edge of the penalty area is too central to cause Kastenmeier any problems.
77'
Magdeburg lack firepower
It's now 19:7 in terms of shots on goal and 9:2 corners for the visitors, who simply cannot score.
75'
Both teams make changes
Rasmussen, who didn't do much here, has to come off while Schmidt comes on. On the other side, Ghrieb worked hard but remained equally unlucky. Perhaps Diawara can score the golden goal.
74'
Another counter-attack
Fortuna need to make more of their counter-attacks. Rasmussen and Itten are not decisive enough in the transition play and lose the ball at the Magdeburg penalty area.
73'
Brief interruption
After the free kick by Ghrieb, El Azzouzi is lying on the ground because he took the shot to the stomach.
70'
Dangerous Foul
Just outside the penalty area, El Azzouzi takes out Ulrich. Magdeburg are awarded a free kick at the edge of the box. To make matters worse, it was also the fifth booking for the midfielder. The free kick taken by Ghrieb flies into the wall.
68'
Chance for 2-0
Magdeburg squander the ball in the build-up. Mathisen wants to play it back, but Rasmussen nips in and runs towards the Magdeburg goal. In front of Reimann, he makes the wrong decision by trying to go around him on the right, allowing Müller to intervene and clear the danger.

Corners abound

Cleared at the last moment
Atik controls a long ball, dribbles towards the Düsseldorf goal and plays it out left to Zukowski. He takes one touch and looks to finish from the left side of the penalty area, but Daland comes in with a sliding tackle and makes the clearance.

Long balls from Reimann
The visitors want to push for the equaliser before the break. They are now playing long passes from the back. Ulrich wins several second balls and has had good shooting opportunities, but hasn't managed to take advantage.
45'
Fortuna leading
And the hosts are doing so for the first time under Markus Anfang. The last time Düsseldorf were ahead was at the end of September under Daniel Thioune, when they maintained a 1-0 lead until the end in Bochum
42'
Magdeburg's problem
Whenever the visitors have been 1-0 behind this season, they have always lost.

Into the notebook
Michel turns in midfield, Breithaupt is close to him. However, so is the elbow of the Düsseldorf player. That's a booking.

Magdeburg more alert
Fortuna are still a bit sluggish when it comes to quickly winning back the ball. The visitors appear more focused and need only half the time to regain possession.

Atik at the far post
Hercher manages to break through on the right wing and crosses into the middle. The ball sails past friend and foe. Atik is alert though and rescues it at the far post. His shot is blocked by Düsseldorf.
28'
Wasted moment
Nollenberger is causing havoc again. On the left, he powers his way to the byline, looks for the cross, but Daland manages to clear at the last moment. The subsequent corner comes to nothing.
24'
Magdeburg move
Reimann plays a clever ball to free Mathisen. The right centre-back pushes forward and plays a long pass into the Fortuna penalty area. Nollenberger takes it down cleverly, cuts inside and shoots. Kastenmeier makes a safe catch.
22'
Huge chance
Iyoha has a golden opportunity to score the opener. He plays Muslija free on the left, who tries to play the ball back inside and, somewhat fortunately, it comes back to Iyoha. Centrally in front of goal, just a few metres out, his nerves fail him and he puts the ball over the bar.

14'
That was close
Nollenberger powers his way to the byline and crosses into the middle. Ghrieb and Zukowski both miss the ball as it sails past them. Ulrich tries a shot from the edge of the box, but it's blocked.
11'
Schmidt's shot
The left-back battles through but Reimann easily collects his shot.
10'
Free kick in a good position
Nollenberger is played through on the left and fouled by Heyer. Ghrieb chips it into the middle, but Zukowski is called back due to an infringement.
8'
Düsseldorf switch it up
Kastenmeier catches a cross from the left by Atik and immediately looks to move forward. His clearance finds Itten, but the striker is challenged by two Magdeburg players on the right. When the hosts have looked dangerous so far, it's been on the counter-attack.

Debutant
Although Zukowski joined Magdeburg on deadline day, he was injured. During the international break, the speedy winger played for the first time in a friendly against Schweinfurt and now the Polish player is set to make his debut in Bundesliga 2, one day before his 24th birthday.
Change out wide
Just the one change for Fortuna this week. Zimmermann is missing, meaning a place in teh starting line-up for Heyer.

Victory thanks to Sander?
