Full-time! Fürth 1-0 Münster

Dehm's late, late strike sends Fürth up to within a point of mid-table Münster. It's very harsh on the visitors. A draw would have been the fair result at the end of a game that only really came to life in the closing stages.

Fürth land suckerpunch!

Ter Horst's attempted clearance from a Fürth throw-in falls to Dehm, who drives in a stunning 18-yard finish. Schenk got a hand to it, but the shot just had too much power and precision. What a way to win the game!

Post!

Paetow's long throw finds Hendrix, whose close-range effort draws a stunning reaction save out of Prüfrock. He pushes it onto the post and Fürth get it away. Was that the chance?
84'

Denied!

Batista Meier drives the ball forward on the right and plays it across the middle to the advancing Vilhelmsson. However, Fürth get it away, celebrating as if they've scored.

Klaus!

He catches it well from a good 20 yards, but Schenk gets down to make the stop.

Tactical foul

Paetow is booked after putting his hands all over Klaus as Fürth tried to counter.

Almost in!

Abrangao is seemingly through on the left side of the penalty area, but is tackled at the last moment by Sertdemir.

Another centre-back?

Münster's nominal defensive midfielder makes way for Paetow. He's a defender by trade, but is also known for his long throw-ins...

Reich has put in a good shift today. He's replaced by Dehm.

Awkward!

Hendrix tests Prüfrock with a shot from 25 yards. It's at an awkward height and swerving, so the keeper elects to punch clear.

Big chance and then yellow!

A long throw-in from the right side slips through to the far post, where Makridis misses with a free header. Fürth can counter-attack until the recently substituted Bolay pulls down his man, earning a booking.

Half-time: Greuther Fürth 0-0 Preußen Münster

A match of modest quality, VAR has been called upon on two occasions. The first one to rule out Futkeu's goal after the attacker strayed offside, and the second to wave away penalty appeals after Klaus was brought down in the Münster box. Let's see what the second half brings.

Good attack

Batista Meier chips the ball on the right side into the path of ter Horst, who has some space ahead of him. He penetrates the penalty area from the right and tries to lay it back to Lokotsch. However, Münz intercepts and clears at the expense of a corner, which doesn't amount to anything.

Noticeable Klaus

The Fürth player is very active here and is frequently put under pressure by Münster. Nevertheless, he manages to prevail in 69 percent of cases. That's the best rate on the pitch so far.

Wake-up call for Münster?

Münster are already showing a few lapses in concentration, like before the disallowed offside goal. But now they should be warned that Fürth certainly know how to exploit mistakes from their opponents.

Fürth see their goal ruled out

After a misplaced pass in Preußen's build-up play, Futkeu gets the ball in midfield, passes it out to the right to the sprinting Klaus who in turn makes his own way forward into attack. Eventually, Klaus plays it across in the penalty area and Futkeu scores what would have been his seventh goal of the season and the opening goal for the home side. But after intervention from the VAR, it's ruled out for an offside in the build-up. Still 0-0.

Münster in search of opener

Itter secures the ball secure in his penalty area after a Münster attack, but completely unpressured passes it straight to opponent Preißinger's feet. He shoots from distance and puts the ball narrowly wide of the left post. Best chance of the match so far.

Chance for Münster

After a high cross from the right side, Lokotsch wins the aerial duel in the middle under pressure, but doesn't get enough power on the header. It lands in the arms of Prüfrock. However, a first notable chance for the visitors.
10'

No way through

Klaus and Hrgota try to play a one-two to get into the Münster penalty area. However, Batista Meier stands in the way and even wins a goal kick against Klaus by cleverly deflecting the ball off his opponent.
7'

Pressure from Fürth

A high ball into the final third from Olesen is too long and was easily collected by Schenk. The home side are pressing high up the pitch and putting Münster under considerable pressure. The visitors are the team with the most possession in the league, but at the moment they're struggling to keep hold of the ball for long periods.
4'

First shot

Fürth winger Abrangao receives the ball in the left half-space and immediately tries his luck. His powerful shot flies about a metre wide of the visitors' left post.
3'

Poor pass

Münster play out quickly from their own defence forward and Sertdemir finds space in midfield. Ultimately, he tries to set up his strikers with a through ball into the final third, but the ball ends up at the feet of the Fürth defence.

For the visitors, there is another absence with Malik Batmaz, but also good news: Captain Jorrit Hendrix returns after a yellow card suspension. Additionally, Oscar Vilhelmsson and Luca Bolay, two previously injured players, are back, but initially take their places on the bench.

Alexander Ende on facing Fürth

"Fürth will also have this match in focus and will want to send a positive signal at home before the international break. Our approach, however, is not based on the opponent's position in the table. We need to recall our qualities again."

Ex-Greuther players at Münster

Marco Meyerhöfer (26 Bundesliga and 116 second division matches for the Clover Leaves) and Paul Jaeckel (67 Bundesliga 2 appearances for Greuther) were regular starters during Fürth's last promotion to the Bundesliga in 2020/21.

Last-minute drama

In the return match at the Preußenstadion, Fürth played with 10 men from the 32nd minute, only being beaten 2-1 by a 90th-minute goal from Joshua Mees, who bagged a brace.

Historic match

The 3-1 defeat at the Sportpark Ronhof on Matchday 1 of last season was Münster's first second-division match in 33 years.

Only the third competitive meeting

2024/25 was the first time Fürth and Münster had faced each other in competitive matches. Although both played in Bundesliga 2 from 1974 to 1981, they were separated in the North and South divisions.
