Last week he was still playing for the second team in the Oberliga in front of 167 spectators against Dudenhofen at the Sportpark Rote Teufel, today he gets to play in front of a completely different crowd at the Betze!

Braunschweig's 1-0 win under current Lautern boss Torsten Lieberknecht on 2 April 2017 is their only triumph in nine visits to the Fritz-Walter-Stadion. Overall, Lieberknecht spent 15 years at Eintracht as a player, U19 coach and first-team boss, leading the club from the 3. Liga to the Bundesliga during his time as head coach.

The Red Devils have sufferered back-to-back 2-0 away defeats to Braunschweig but have scored eight goals against them in their last two home matches, winning 3-2 and 5-0 respectively.

Erencan Yardımcı last found the net in Braunschweig's 2-0 win over Lautern earlier this season. The striker has since gone 16 matches, or 1,004 minutes, without scoring.

Traditional rivalry
