Full-time: Bochum 4-1 Braunschweig

Holtmann put Bochum ahead after just 13 minutes, and after half an hour, Hofmann scored what appears to be his team's second. However, VAR disallows the goal. Just before half-time, Bochum got their second goal as Miyoshi found the top corner with a stunning strike. In the second half, Alfa-Ruprecht made it 3-0, while Tempelmann's goal to make it 3-1 came too late. Hofmann completed the scoring, converting a penalty for the final 4-1 scoreline.

Mijatović over

Aydin chips the ball forward centrally into the box to the striker, who then shoots from five metres out and is cleared out by Morgalla in the process. As a result, the forward sends the shot into the clouds and remains on the ground in pain afterwards. He requires treatment, but the Braunschweig player doesn't get a penalty.
89'

Bochum clever

The hosts keep the ball far away from their own box, so Braunschweig can't create any goal threat.

Braunschweig now sense a small chance, but Horn securely catches the ball out of the air.

Braunschweig pull one back!

There's still hope for Braunschweig! Bochum fail to clear the ball properly in the penalty area. Tempelmann eventually shoots from eleven metres out and aims for the right corner. Strompf throws himself in the way and deflects it decisively, sending the ball into the left side of the net with Horn having absolutely no chance to save it.

The lead is melting away

For a long time this season, Bochum were in the no-man's-land of the table, but due to the results of recent weeks and also from this matchday, the Ruhr club, currently in 10th, now only has a three-point lead over 17th place. Braunschweig, currently occupying the promotion/relegation play-off spot, can draw level on points with Bochum with an away win today.

Milestone for Holtmann

The speedster is making his 50th Bundesliga 2 appearance for Bochum today.

Uwe Rösler on facing Braunschweig

"Braunschweig have clear processes under their new coach, are very well structured. It'll be a difficult match. In contrast to the first half of the season, we've recently allowed too much. We all need to work on that, to get the balance right between attack and defence. We have the quality, but we need to bring it onto the pitch."

Old rivalry

Both clubs have a combined total of 59 seasons in the Bundesliga (Bochum 38, Braunschweig 21), but their last shared season in the top flight was 41 years ago (1984/85).

Relegation battle

Eintracht have also won just one of their last eight matches (1-0 against Düsseldorf). Three points in Bochum would provide some breathing space in the fight for survival. Braunschweig currently stand one point above the drop zone; Bochum four.
