"Just because we've kept a clean sheet doesn't mean we can lose focus. It's also very clear that to win matches, we need to score goals. We haven't managed to do that in recent fixtures."

Ground to make up

Fürth trail 15th-placed Preußen Münster by four points but will take heart from their goalless draw at home to Braunschweig last time out. However, their only win on the road this season came back on 19 September, when they defeated Arminia Bielefeld 3-1.

Marcel Rapp on facing Fürth

"We are supposedly playing against the team at the bottom of the table. But if you look at their squad, it's actually a really good team. If you see their last match, how they put their foot down, we need to be careful. Nevertheless, our aim is to take all three points."

Once upon a time

Besides the 13 second division encounters, both teams faced each other 100 years ago in the semi-final of the German Championship. In June 1926, Fürth defeated Kiel 3-1 in Düsseldorf, and went on to win one of their three championship titles in the final against Hertha. Kiel were also German champions all the way back in 1912.

Consistent performer

Branimir Hrgota scored both in Fürth's last home victory against the Storks (2-1 on 28 January 2024) as well as netting in Fürth's last away win in Kiel (3-1 in October 2020).
