Another draw?
Hertha are facing their fourth draw in a row, and if it stays this way, it would be their fifth match without a win. Despite good performances, the Berliners are gradually dropping out of the promotion race.

Huge chance
That should have been the equaliser. A lovely long ball into the empty Karlsruher half finds Luca Schuler, and he is through on goal. He tries to round Bernat before shooting from a tight angle, but puts the ball wide of the target.
42'
Unusually weak defence
For just the third time this season, Hertha have conceded two goals before half-time. The other two occasions were matchday 1 and matchday 9. The capital city club is not usually known for being this defensively vulnerable.
41'
Quick Hertha
The visitors have won the ball back much quicker after losing possession than KSC. Additionally, Hertha have had 60 per cent possession and have played 217 passes compared to 146 so far.

What a chance
Schleusener sets up Ben Farhat brilliantly. He advances alone towards the goal from the half-right position, but the ball bounces a bit too far from his foot, so he can't get a controlled shot away. Instead, he tries to nutmeg Ernst - but hits his heel, causing the ball to go wide of the goal - corner.
35'
Goal frenzy
In their previous five home matches, KSC hadn't scored at all before half-time, but now they've managed two goals before the break at home for the first time since matchday 1 (against Münster). And all that within just 26 minutes.
33'
Good shot
Another good opportunity for KSC. Ben Farhat gets the ball on the half-right in the penalty area and hits it on the turn. Ernst can only parry forward. Schleusener comes flying in and heads the ball from close range, but he has no control over the ball and puts it wide of the right post.

Curious factoid
Current Karlsruhe head coach Christian Eichner played in his team's last Bundesliga match - a 4-0 home win against Hertha - back on 23 May 2009.
Return
Fabian Reese made his first 10 Bundesliga 2 appearances as a Karlsruhe player, but failed to score as they were relegated to the third tier at the end of 2016/17. Against his former club, however, he has scored five times in 11 appearances.
Goals usually the norm
The reverse fixture ended goalless, but that's actually the exception to the rule. In the past three meetings at Karlsruhe's Wildpark, the capital city side have scored 11 times (3-1, 2-3 & 6-2).
Particularly friendly...
Hertha have collected 14 points in the last seven matches against Karlsruhe, with whom they have been closely connected through a fan friendship first established in 1976.
