Full-time: Hertha 0-0 Schalke

In a huge promotion clash, both teams rather underwhelmed as the points were shared after a goalless draw. Hertha were certainly the better of the two teams and came close on a couple of occasions through Marten Winkler and then Linus Gechter at the death, but the hosts always found Loris Karius in the way. At the other end, Schalke created nothing and can be pleased to take a point in their hunt for promotion.

New season record

It's getting packed in the Olympiastadion! The previous season record in Bundesliga 2 was 70,914 spectators at Hertha against Dresden, this mark is likely to be surpassed today.

Starting XI comeback

Krattenmacher is in the starting line-up for the first time since Matchday 11. Back then, he started on the right side in the 2-0 victory against Dresden.

Many absences at Hertha

The Berlin side go into the match severely weakened by absences. Leistner is suspended due to a red card, Ernst has to miss out for the first time this season after an infection, and captain Reese is not fully fit, though he is at least on the bench. Additionally, Kolbe and Demme are out, meaning five players who were in the starting 11 in the last match of the first half of the season are missing.

Schalke in the house!

Becker displaces Ayhan

At the end of the first half of the season, Becker, who had been injured for two and a half months, made his comeback, but was only used as a substitute twice. Ayhan, who had been outstanding in his place, was preferred - now the veteran displaces the youngster from the starting eleven, with Becker starting for the first time since September.

Miron Muslić on facing Hertha

"We’re coming up against a very ambitious opponent who will be pushing for all three points to close the gap. We know Hertha’s strengths, but we also know how we can hurt them."
