Denied!

Kane sweeps an effort goalwards from close range. The goalkeeper gets a touch, before diving on the ball at the second attempt as it wriggled through his legs - though Kane was clearly offside when he made contact.
66'

Chance not taken

Upamecano sends a ball up towards Sané. He skips inside, but his attempted pass is a touch too casual and Wolfsburg can clear.
63'

Defensive change

An indication of the threat Wolfsburg are posing as Tuchel hooks Müller, with de Ligt coming on to shore things up defensively.
56'

Right idea

Rogerio skips away from Laimer and sends a ball into the box that Davies does well to clear with green shirts lurking. Wolfsburg are causing Bayern problems...
54'

No way through

Müller tries to feed Sané in the box, but Jenz sees off the threat. Wolfsburg are doing a fine job of keeping Bayern in check so far this second half.

Fresh legs

Majer scored at the weekend, but he hasn't been involved much at all today. Tomás is on in the Wolfsburg attack.

Here we go again!

Another warning shot for Wolfsburg as Sané powers into the box and crosses for Müller. It takes him by surprise, though, and ping-pong ensues. Guerreiro eventually takes on a first-time shot from 14 yards, sliding it wide.

Kane spins and plays a peach of a pass into the box for Musiala. He spins to face goal, but Jenz slides in to block the shot. So much more than just a goalscorer, the Bayern No.9.

More on those teams

Bayern are unchanged from the win over Stuttgart, with Pavlovic and Guerreiro again the midfield partnership in the absence of Kimmich and Goretzka. As for Wolfsburg, Zesiger replaces the suspended Lacroix and Arnold returns at the expense of Gerhardt.

News from Germany

Sky Germany are reporting that Kimmich and Goretzka did not travel to Wolfsburg. If that's the case, Tuchel will almost certainly keep faith with Pavlović and Guerreiro in the centre of midfield.

The standings

Bayern can move back to within a point of Leverkusen, if they win and the leaders lose at home to Bochum. The current gap is four points, though Tuchel's men have a game in hand against Union Berlin to come in January. Ninth-placed Wolfsburg could climb to eighth, or fall as low as 14th.

Golden Shoe race

Bayern's Player of the Month has outscored everyone across Europe's top five leagues so far this season, with 24 goals for Bayern, including 20 in the Bundesliga.

Up-and-coming talent

Aleksandar Pavlović really impressed on his full Bundesliga debut, producing a brace of assists in the win over Stuttgart. The 19-year-old could keep his place in the Bayern midfield, if Joshua Kimmich and Leon Goretzka don't recover from illness in time.

The view from Wolfsburg

"Along with Leverkusen, Bayern are the best team in Germany right now," said Wolfsburg head coach Niko Kovač. "They are immensely strong team, with lots of individual quality up front, which doesn't make it easier. It is effectively a free hit for us - nobody is expecting anything, Bayern are expected to win easily. But our boys will give everything, and I remember last year, we gave Bayern lots of problems even if we eventually lost (4-2)."
camera-photo

The view from Bayern

"Wolfsburg play with different tactics than Stuttgart," said Thomas Tuchel during his pre-match press conference. "We're expecting to come up against another back-five. We'll see what challenges the game brings. We hope we'll be able to find the right solutions for what comes our way."

Red-hot Kane

Bayern's English star, Kane, is a slight doubt due to a cold but he has otherwise been red-hot since landing in the Bundesliga. He extended his record to 20 goals from just 14 appearances by scoring twice last weekend.
