Switzerland will rue their missed opportunities to score, as on another day, they could easily have scored four or five. Nevertheless, Qatar clung on, thanks in part to some fine goalkeeping from Abunada, who has helped his side secure a historic point.

Qatar equalise in added time! Incredible! Switzerland should have killed this game off a long time ago, but their finishing was wasteful and they've been punished for it. It all comes from superb work down the left channel, as El-Amin beats his man and floats in a teasing cross towards the back post. Khoukhi rises highest and powerfully heads the ball past Kobel to make it 1-1. What a point this would be for Qatar! Can they hang on with a minute to go?

Stoppage time There'll be a minimum of six minutes added on. What a wonderful gesture from the Schalke players!

Lap of honour The squad is now moving with the trophy from stand to stand, continuing to celebrate with the fans.

Becker treats himself to a beer The first Schalke player to treat himself to a (well-deserved) beer is defender Timo Becker.

Now they head to the stands The formal part of the trophy ceremony is over. Now, the Schalke players make their way back to celebrate the triumph with the fans.

Braunschweig goalkeeper Hoffmann: "We achieved our goal" "We achieved our goal somehow. We obviously need to discuss things, but I am just happy we made it, it doesn't matter how. We can analyse things in peace. The back and forth (with Fürth in the other match) was hard to deal with. But now we can sit back and enjoy this fantastic atmosphere."

Best way to say goodbye Henning Matriciani and Christopher Antwi-Adjei are both leaving Schalke this summer. There is no better way to depart than with silverware!

Everyone involved Džeko, Karius, Sylla, Dompé and everyone in the squad is getting their moment with the trophy.

Trophy lift! Karaman is the final man to walk onto the podium, and once he is in place, he lifts the trophy high above his head. What a moment!

Braunschweig form a guard of honour The visitors form a guard of honour and let the Schalke champions through to the podium. A wonderful gesture from Braunschweig!

Stepping up to celebrate The hosts are currently walking up to the podium to collect their winners medals. They deserve to enjoy this moment of glory after a long season.

Karaman receives his award The Schalke captain is presented with the Player of the Season award by DFL managing directors Dr. Steffen Merkel and Dr. Marc Lenz. Shortly afterwards, his teammates grab their captain and give him a rousing cheer!

Off to the fans With one final long sprint, the entire Schalke squad runs towards the stand, kicking off the celebrations. Muslić is among them.

Full-time: Schalke 1-0 Eintracht Braunschweig Celebrations on both sides! Braunschweig stay up and Schalke celebrate promotion and the title! Schalke ultimately prevail following Aouchiche's goal in the first half. As the match progressed, the Royal Blues could have extended their lead, but the visitors threw everything into it and defended the result, which was enough for them to secure their Bundesliga 2 status!

Stoppage time is underway Three minutes have been indicated. 180 seconds separate Braunschweig from survival and Schalke from the title celebrations!

Anxious glances at the clock It's almost over here, and if it stays like this, it would be enough. However, Fürth must not score, otherwise Braunschweig would face the relegation play-off spot. The tension is palpable.

Schalke attacking The hosts seem intent on setting up Džeko and fuelling the title celebrations with yet another goal. There is no other explanation for why they continue to push forward so actively against a nervous Braunschweig side.

Running down the clock The visitors are now managing to keep possession of the ball for a bit longer. The seconds are ticking away, but there are still a few minutes left on the clock.

Almost 2-0! Džeko is ready to tap it in, but Ehlers nicks the ball away from him at the very last moment with the tip of his toe!

Holding on It seems as though Braunschweig are focusing on not conceding another goal here. At the moment, that would be enough. If Fürth score in their match, though, Eintracht will need a goal of their own. Absolute nail-biting tension here!

Another double substitution Antwi-Adjei comes on in his final match for Schalke. Gantenbein, meanwhile, replaces goalscorer Aouchiche.

So close! Substitute Becker finds a bit of space just outside the penalty area and lets fly, but he narrowly misses the target!

Substitution up front Opoku replaces Alidou.

Where is the urgency? With a goal of their own, Braunschweig could virtually secure their top-flight survival, but, as it stands they are dependent on Fürth not scoring again. It is a complicated situation and a single goal could be decisive! Will they take more risks as a result?

Substitution in defence Katić gets to pick up some minutes before the title celebrations get underway following his injury.

So close! Aouchiche goes directly for goal with a free-kick, but curls it just wide of the far post!

Booked straight away Shortly after coming on, Heusser fouls the equally fresh Becker and is cautioned.

Tension continues Currently only one goal separates survival from the relegation play-off spot. With the current scoreline it would be enough, but if Fürth score in their match against Düsseldorf, Braunschweig would urgently need a goal of their own!

Substitutions on both sides Experienced striker Džeko gets a few more minutes on the pitch for Schalke, as does youngster Becker. For the visitors, Heusser comes on.

Sylla misses! Schalke are working towards a second goal. This time, Karaman plays the ball in sharply from the left flank but, in the middle, the striker slides just past the ball.

Karaman blocked! The captain finds space, drives forward once more and looks to shoot in at the near post, but his effort strikes a Braunschweig leg!

It's getting tighter In the live table, Braunschweig drop one place due to Bielefeld's equaliser and now sit in 15th. It remains incredibly tense!

Sylla! Almost a second! The Schalke striker gets a shot off in the six-yard box, but Hoffmann prevents the ball from hitting the back of the net with a brilliant reflex save on the line!

Braunschweig start strong In a first fine attack down the left, Kaufmann and Gómez combine beautifully, but in the end the flag goes up for offside.

We're back underway! Both teams are back on the pitch and Schalke kick off the second half. The visitors have made a substitution, as Yardımcı joins the attack.

Half-time: Schalke 1-0 Eintracht Braunschweig Schalke are far from being in party mode and are playing out their last match before the title celebrations in a professional manner. The lead is deserved at this point, though Braunschweig are also in the game and could have scored themselves. As it stands, the visitors would be safe from relegation. The second half is coming up shortly!

So close! After a sharp cross from the right flank, Alidou stretches in the centre, but he is just centimetres away from forcing the ball over the line!

So close Karaman drives into the penalty area and plays the ball towards the far post, where it flies just wide of the goal.

Injury time is underway There are four minutes of added time. Will we see a second goal before the half-time whistle?

The first yellow Ljubicic catches Tempelmann with an open sole on the foot - yellow!

Becker! The centre-back appears up front and nearly converts a cross at the far post, but instead hammers the ball well over!

Braunschweig still 14th A quick glance at the live table shows that, while there has been quite a bit of movement in the relegation zone, Braunschweig are still holding on to their 14th place.

The champions are in front! Aouchiche taps in to take the lead! However, he is now back on the pitch and appears to be moving well again.

Open game Both teams have already had their moments here, making it an attractive watch. Braunschweig are highly motivated and continue to press high up the pitch, while Schalke are showing their class, albeit in glimpses.

Ball in the net, flag up! Kaufmann scores with a superb volley, but Alidou was offside during the build-up so the flag goes up straight away - offside!

Pinball in Schalke's penalty area First, Tempelmann has a half-chance from a tight angle shortly after Schalke fail to clear a corner. However, as no Braunschweig player manages to put the ball in the net following some pinball, the chance ultimately comes to nothing.

Stunning The Schalke fans pulled out all the stops and conjured up a spectacular stand display here.

No reason for concern Scores elsewhere do not change much for Braunschweig, who are currently sitting 14th in the live table.

Closing in Lifted by the fantastic atmosphere, Schalke are now getting more into the game. Aouchiche is played in on the left side of the penalty area, but his attempt from a tight angle is easily dealt with by Hoffmann.

First shot on goal Alidou is repeatedly the target of plenty of Braunschweig attacks early on, but his shot from around 20 yards goes well wide on this occasion.

Post! The woodwork is rattling! During the first successful Schalke attack down the right, the ball is played in low, and El-Faouzi gets a free shot off from just inside the box. However, his slightly deflected effort only hits the right post!

Champions struggling Schalke are having difficulties dealing with the high and intense pressing from Braunschweig in these early stages. As a result, very little is happening going forward.

Engaged start The Schalke fans are still displaying a massive blue-and-white display, while Braunschweig are already trying to make their mark early on. For the visitors, today's match is still about survival in the division, and they are clearly eager to keep things in their own hands.

Kick-off! The visitors from Braunschweig get the match underway.

Five minutes until kick-off Not long until we are underway in this final game of the campaign.

Braunschweig team news For the visitors, Yardımcı, former Schalke player Frenkert and Marie all make way. In the first half, the hosts could – perhaps even should – have taken the lead. After the break, however, the match levelled off considerably and Kwarteng's long-range effort for 2-1 in the 70th minute remained the decisive moment of a rather uneventful second period.

Late chance for Karlsruhe Marshall handles the ball, and there is a free kick for Karlsruhe from 20 yards out on the left. Horn is able to punch the ball clear, however.

Six more minutes Can Christian Eichner avoid defeat in his final match in charge of Karlsruhe?

Karlsruhe push once more... ...and earn a flurry of corners. However, clear-cut chances are proving to be few and far between.

Send-off for Schleusener Schleusener's 221st appearance is also his last, as the Karlsruhe player leaves the field to acclaim from his fans to be replaced by Šimić.

Onto the woodwork! A corner from Wanitzek finds Franke, whose attempt clatters against the post.

Another change for both side Miyoshi comes on for Alfa-Ruprecht. Additionally, Rapp is replaced by Wäschenbach for Karlsruhe.

It's tight at the bottom Away from Karlsruhe, there is quite a battle for Bundesliga 2 safety ongoing. Greuther Fürth are currently leading 3-0 against Düsseldorf, and Fortuna would go straight down with that result, while Fürth are due presently to face Essen in a relegation/promotion play-off. Braunschweig would be safe despite losing 1-0 at Schalke.

Next change Rösler takes off Wätjen and brings on Marshall.

Bochum are back in front! Loosli wins a duel against Fukuda. The medical staff are on the pitch to assist him.

Bochum on the break The fastest player of the season in Bundesliga 1, Alfa-Ruprecht, has a go at goal.

Slow probing A cautious start to the second half, as there is no real drive towards either goal.

Bochum look to burst out of the blocks Holtmann drives forward and leaves several Karlsruhe players in his wake. His shot, however, hits the side netting.

We're off again Play resumes with Lenz coming on for Onyeka.

Half-time: Karlsruhe 1-1 Bochum Bochum made the better start and took an early lead, but the hosts gradually found their footing in the match and were rewarded with a deserved equaliser. As the half progressed, the hosts increasingly took control and pushed for a second. Bochum, on the other hand, lost their grip on the game and can count themselves lucky to go into the break level.

Not much happening Both teams seem to be content to go into the break level.

Bochum threaten again Alfa-Ruprecht capitalises on a mistake by Bernat. Horn manages to make a save, but Fukuda reacts quickest and hammers the ball home.

⚽ 19' Shio Fukuda (1-1)

Morgalla from distance From around 30 yards out, Morgalla plucks up the courage and has a go. However, his attempt goes well wide.

Karlsruhe come close Fukuda gets past Loosli and shoots. Mašović then gets in the way and blocks the effort for Bochum, before Fukuda's shot rattles against the outside of the post.

And another After Bochum's good start, Karlsruhe are slowly getting into the match as well. Wanitzek wins another corner, but again nothing of note comes from it.

First corner Förster plays it to Wanitzek, who comes off second best against Loosli. The resulting corner does not really pose any danger for Horn.

All clear from Cologne... Due to a suspected handball, the situation was initially reviewed on VAR, but the goal stands.

⚽ 4' Kjell Wätjen (0-1)

Cautious start Both teams are feeling each other out initially. Bielefeld win the ball at the halfway line. Grodowski then plays it to Corboz, who squares it across the face of goal. Momuluh only has to tap it in. Survival is within reach.

⚽ 65' Monju Momuluh (3-1)

Bielefeld climb Thanks to the lead, Bielefeld have now moved up to 13th place.

First substitutions Berner is receiving treatment and has to come off. The reason for this is a good Hertha goalkeeper, who's thwarted numerous Bielefeld chances. At the other end, Arminia defended catastrophically on one occasion and find themselves behind and in trouble.

One minute of added time Can Bielefeld find a way back in before the break?

Arminia go again Momuluh drives up the right and delivers a dangerous cross in front of goal. Once again the Berlin goalkeeper is on hand to make the save.

Offside Once again a Bielefeld player finds himself one-on-one with Ernst. And once again Ernst makes a strong save. This time, however, the striker was offside when played in.

Grodowski misses out Bielefeld keep pushing and come down the right. However, the cross hits Grodowski in the back.

A huge blow As Fürth are currently leading 3-0, Bielefeld are now down to 17th place and Düsseldorf in 16th.

Hertha lead! Bielefeld can only partially clear a free-kick. Eitschberger then has far too much space and crosses to Gechter, who is also unmarked. The defender can head in without any trouble.

⚽ 37' Linus Gechter (0-1)

Huge save! Corboz sets up Wörl perfectly, who finds himself one-on-one with Ernst and aims for the near post. The goalkeeper, however, makes himself incredibly big and repels the ball with his foot.

Good intervention Ernst punches away a cross from Lannert. Corboz would have been ready to shoot.

Two chances First, Großer attempts an overhead kick. He doesn't connect with the ball properly, and it falls to Momuluh, who fires over the crossbar.

Comes to nothing Momuluh drives forward and then looks for Grodowski in the penalty area. The Berlin side are alert to clear, however.

Dangerous Reese crosses into the six-yard box. Gechter gets on the end of it and heads the ball just over the bar.

No threat A Berlin corner is cleared by Bielefeld without any problems.

Foul The following corner is dangerous as well. Bauer flicks it on to the far post. There, Corboz can only make his way through by fouling and is penalised.

Fürth extend their lead It is now 2-0 to Fürth against Düsseldorf. More good news for Arminia.

The crowd ramp it up Every time Bielefeld win the ball or put in a good move, the Alm erupts. The fans are supporting their side as best they can.

Bielefeld up for it The hosts are desperate to take the lead here and not have to worry about the play-offs. A draw would certainly suffice for that, as Düsseldorf and Fürth are still below them.

Bielefeld again Grodowski crosses into the centre, where Corboz forces his way through. His header bounces up off the ground and over the bar.

Deflected Hertha cannot clear the ball. Corboz lays it off to Russo. However, his shot is deflected just over the bar.

First shot on goal Wörl has a go from just over 20 metres out. Ernst is well positioned, though, and catches the ball safely.

Good news Fürth have scored early to lead against Düsseldorf. As a result, Bielefeld - due to the better goal difference - are up to 15th place and would thereby secure their Bundesliga 2 survival.

Almost the lead Eitschberger crosses to the far post. Berne is unmarked there. The full-back seems somewhat surprised, though, and his finish lacks precision.

Kick-off Arminia get the match under way.

The state of play A win guarantees Arminia at least a play-off spot. On top of that, they could still overtake Düsseldorf, Braunschweig, Dresden and Magdeburg.

Fire up the calculators There is a lot at stake for Bielefeld today. They can still be directly relegated, go into the play-off or secure their survival. To do so, they ideally need to win their own match whilst simultaneously hoping for up to four other results to go their way.

Bielefeld team news Arminia begin their must-win match with a starting XI changed in five positions - the most Bielefeld have made in a single match this season! At the start of the second half, Krempicki and Zukowski had two big chances before Lautern scored out of nowhere after a penalty was awarded for handball, with Ritter converting. Little happened after that point, with results elsewhere ensuring Magdeburg ultimately secured their Bundesliga 2 survival despite the defeat.

Another yellow card Mathisen protests too loudly to the referee and is booked for it.

Into the arms of Krahl Nollenberger crosses from the left into the centre, where Mathisen directs the ball with a header from twelve yards out towards the top right. The attempt is too weak, however, and Krahl holds onto the ball comfortably.

Six minutes of injury time Still more than enough time for a late twist...

Magdeburg also make another substitution Tachie replaces Bockhorn.

Kaiserslautern run down the clock Hanslik trudges off the pitch, with Prince Redondo coming on for the final few minutes.

Nollenberger is limping The forward needs treatment and limps to the touchline afterwards. He will be able to continue in these final minutes.

Mathisen with a header Atik whips a free kick in from the right, and at the far post Mathisen rises to meet the ball with a header from 10 yards out, and loops it towards the top right corner. Krahl is equal to it and tips the ball over the bar with one hand.

Double substitution for the visitors Schramm and Skyttä make way for Chernev and Berisha.

Ten minutes to go Can Magdeburg manage to get back into this one? At the moment, there is little indication of a comeback from the hosts being on the cards, as Lautern are well organised defensively and are barely giving anything away.

Emreli also in the notebook The substitute goes in late in midfield against Atik and stamps on his foot. The referee shows the yellow card once again.

Double change for Lautern Wekesser and Ritter make way for Joly and Emreli.

The next card Asta pulls Nollenberger down by his shirt in midfield. That is a clear tactical foul, and accordingly a yellow card is shown.

First booking of the match Atik loses the ball in midfield against Asta and Skyttä and then fouls the latter, earning a yellow card.

Magdeburg made to sweat If they lose, the hosts' survival depends on results elsewhere. However, as Braunschweig and Düsseldorf are currently behind, Magdeburg are two points above the relegation play-off spot and, as things stand, are safe.

Ritter to the rescue Ritter has now scored seven out of seven penalties in Bundesliga 2! The goal was also the 300th away goal for the Red Devils in the second tier.

Lautern strike! All of a sudden, the away side are awarded a penalty! Wekesser has the ball on the left side of the box and shoots from 15 yards out. Bockhorn goes into a sliding tackle and blocks the ball with his arm outstretched. The referee then immediately points to the spot! Ritter steps up and converts with a low finish into the bottom left corner that sends Reimann the wrong way.

⚽ 63' Marlon Ritter (P) (0-1)

Magdeburg pushing for the lead The hosts have been clearly more active in this second half and are doing considerably more in the game than Lautern. Given their clear-cut chances a few minutes ago, a lead for the home side would be well deserved by now.

It remains a closely contested affair Zukowski is starting to threaten, but the visitors are doing their best to contain him.

Double chance for the hosts Zukowski cuts in from the right inside the penalty area and shoots from 15 yards out. Krahl gets to it and parries it safely to the side. The striker then gets another touch on the ball and shoots from the right from ten yards out, and this time the ball whistles just narrowly past the post.

Big chance for an opener! A huge chance for the home side! Zukowski is free on the right side of the box and goes one-on-one with Krahl, but he only hits the keeper from six yards out.

Can Zukowski still claim the Golden Boot? The Magdeburg striker has scored 17 goals in the season so far, but is currently two goals behind Futkeu of Greuther Fürth.

Next change for Magdeburg Stalmach is down and is having problems with his right thigh. He signals that he cannot continue, and Krempicki comes on for him.

Magdeburg looking for the lead Michel plays a through ball forward to the left towards Nollenberger, who delivers the ball flat and sharp into the centre at full pace. Zukowski is lurking, but Rasmussen is already alert and clears the cross.

We're back in action The referee gets the second half started, with neither side making any changes at the break.

Half-time: Magdeburg 0-0 Kaiserslautern After 45 minutes, it remains goalless between Magdeburg and Kaiserslautern. The hosts are setting the tone but are breaking through too infrequently. Atik and Hanslik had decent chances at either end of the field. A draw is enough for the hosts to secure survival, so the home side simply need to carry on in the same vein in the second half.

Two more minutes The referee indicates two minutes of stoppage time.

Gyamfi gets stuck into Stalmach The defender jumps into the back of Stalmach during an aerial duel and takes the Magdeburg player out completely. Stalmach subsequently stays down on the ground in visible pain, but the referee waves play on.

Wekesser with a header Asta crosses from the right into the centre, Wekesser makes a run into the box and, under pressure from an opponent, gets to a header from six yards out out. He cannot get a proper connection on the ball, allowing Reimann to collect it with ease.

Gyamfi stands his ground The defender is pressed by Zukowski near the right touchline, with the way back to goalkeeper Krahl also blocked. The centre-back stays composed and skilfully works his way out of the press.

Another injury stoppage Hanslik receives an elbow to the face from Mathisen during an aerial duel. The Kaiserslautern player goes down, but is able to continue after a brief stoppage.

Five minutes to go The first half is slowly drawing to a close. Will either of the two sides manage to land an opener before the break?

Musonda has to come off The winger is unable to continue and has to leave the pitch due to injury. Hercher comes on as his replacement.

Musonda down The Magdeburg player is down on the turf, holding his left thigh. He requires treatment.

Tight battle Neither side has given much ground to their opponents so far.

Reimann to the rescue Wekesser plays the ball flat from the left into the centre, where Hanslik is lurking and takes the pass first time from a central position 14 metres out. He aims for the bottom left corner, but Reimann dives down and saves well.

No rush for Magdeburg Lautern are trying to lure Magdeburg forward, but the hosts remain composed and continue to patiently probe for gaps in the final third. They do not necessarily need to push for the lead, as even with this draw they are, as things stand, safe from relegation.

Tricky one for Zukowski Nollenberger has been the standout player for Magdeburg so far, and once again he drives the ball dangerously infield from his right flank into the penalty area. A half-volleyed cross lands at the near post where Zukowski is lurking, but the top scorer of the hosts cannot quite bring the ball under control and get a shot on goal.

Michel goes close Nollenberger does well to beat two men on the right flank and plays the ball low into the centre. Michel runs onto it in the middle and, in a battle against Kunze, steers the ball just wide of the right post from six yards out.

Free-kick from the right Bockhorn is fouled by Gyamfi, and Atik delivers the resulting set piece high into the box. However, Lautern are able to clear the danger.

Lautern on the ball The visitors are now stringing some good passes together through their own ranks and are enjoying a longer spell of possession. Going forward, however, they cannot find any gaps.

Slippery pitch The players of both sides are having considerable difficulty keeping their footing today and keep slipping. The pitch was certainly given a good watering beforehand.

No danger Reimann is alert to a cross from the left and plucks the ball safely out of the air.

Quarter of an hour gone Magdeburg have been the clearly dominant side so far and are pushing for the lead, but without creating too many openings so far.

Too soft Nollenberger plays the ball forward into the right side of the box, finding the overlapping run of Zukowski. The striker shoots immediately in full stride from 15 yards out, but doesn't make clean contact with the ball. Krahl is at the near post and collects the ball with ease.

Gnaka drops deep to collect the ball The midfielder keeps dropping deep into the build-up play to collect the ball, acting like a quarterback of sorts.

Patient Magdeburg The hosts have had an enormous amount of possession in these opening minutes and are patiently looking for gaps in the final third. Lautern have so far primarily focused on maintaining a solid defensive shape.

Krahl slips Robinson plays the ball back to the keeper, who slips just before receiving it. Atik is lurking, but at the last moment the goalkeeper manages to clear the ball away.

Calm build-up play The hosts are keeping possession in their own ranks and calmly building up from the back. Lautern are not pressing particularly high up the pitch and are allowing Magdeburg time on the ball for now.

First shot of the match Hanslik gets a central shot on goal from 20 yards out, and his attempt flies two yards over the middle of the crossbar.

The match is underway The away side kick off in their black kits, while the home side take to the pitch all in blue.

The teams take to the pitch Both teams are now entering the pitch, kick-off is imminent.

Brilliant atmosphere Both sets of supporters are creating a magnificent atmosphere here. The mood is more than worthy of a final matchday!

How it stands We have a fairly straightforward situation here in Magdeburg. For Lautern, there is nothing left to play for, other than to bow out of this season with dignity and a solid performance. The hosts, on the other hand, are still under considerable pressure, as they could, in the worst case, still slip down to the relegation play-off spot. However, should Magdeburg take at least a point today, they will be safe.

More on that Kaiserslautern team Torsten Lieberknecht makes two changes to his starting XI following the 2-0 win against Bielefeld.
