Given that it's a must-win for Ecuador, Germany had to weather a lot of pressure throughout the half, with Tah proving integral at the back. Will there be late drama in the first half here?

Quickfire bookings Both sides are shown their first yellow cards of the match in rapid succession. Waiting for support to arrive, he stands his man up before trying to pick Havertz out with a low cross using the outside of his right boot. However, the ball is cleared from the six-yard box before it can reach the former Leverkusen star.

Bursting from deep Nmecha gets into his stride in the middle of the park before attempting an effort from just over 20 yards out. Senaya gets in behind the defence and goes down under pressure from Konsa inside the box, but he still gets a shot away while on the ground. It's going towards goal but hits his own player - Semenyo - before England clear.

Scrappy The game has been interrupted in the last few minutes by lots of niggly fouls.

More changes Tuchel makes two more substitutions, freshening up the attack with Eze and Rogers.

Break in play The second and final hydration break is upon us.

Over from Saka! Mudueke, now on the left wing after Saka's introduction, takes on his man and gets to the byline. His cross to the back post finds Saka, but he heads over.

It opens up for Kane! Ghana try to play the ball out from the back but lose possession cheaply. It comes to Kane just outside the box, but his left-footed strike lacks both the power and precision to beat the goalkeeper.

Almost in! Prince Adu, only just on the field, chases a clever through-ball. He's tracked by Bellingham though, and the former Dortmund man dispossesses him with a brilliant sliding tackle.

Same rhythm The second half has slipped into the same pattern as the first, with England dominating the ball but struggling to make headway against a well-drilled Ghana side.

Underway once more Ghana get the second half up and running.

Half-time: England 0-0 Ghana The Three Lions had more of the ball and played almost exclusively in the Ghana half but were unable to create any clear-cut openings against a packed rearguard. He shifts his feet well and gets a shot away, but once again there are too many Ghana players in the way, and it goes out for a corner.

Added time There will be six additional minutes.

First corner Ayew and Semenyo do well down the Ghana left in their first period of sustained pressure. Rice arrives and wins the header, but can only send his effort over the bar.

Set piece needed? England have been camped out in Ghana's half for the majority of the game, but there's so little space to work in and no room for runs in behind. They send plenty of bodies forward in a bid to crowd the box, but Guehi wins the header and is fouled in the process.

And we're back The ball is rolling once more.

Hydration break Three minutes for the players to take on some fluids and receive tactical tweaks from their coaches.

Treatment James and Ayew are both on the field receiving medical treatment after a clash of heads.

Relentless pressure Ghana have struggled to make it out of their half yet. James nudges it to Rice, whose rasping drive arrows just over the bar.

Almost! Madueke slides a ball inside to James, darting into the Ghana box down the right.
