Paderborn dominated the match but it's Karlsruhe who take all three points. Despite clear superiority and numerous chances, the hosts failed to capitalise. For Zivzivadze, it's his 12th goal of the season, putting him back alone at the top of the Bundesliga 2 scoring charts (Schalke's Moussa Sylla has scored 11 times). Zivzivadze has now scored as many goals as he did in the entire previous campaign.

Weiß is back on his feet and seems able to continue.

Lukas Kwasniok was a youth player at Karlsruhe and also coached various youth teams at the club. In December 2016, he was the interim coach of the first team in Bundesliga 2 for two matches (0-0 draws against Braunschweig and in Dresden). As a manager, he has never lost against his former club.

Karlsruhe last won against the hosts in November 2020 (1-0 at home), while in their last away victory in Paderborn (2-0 in November 2017 in the 3rd division), Fabian Schleusener was among the goalscorers.

In Bundesliga 2, Paderborn has celebrated more victories against Karlsruhe (12) than against any other team.
