With just under two minutes to go, there is plenty of desire from the Hamburg outfielders to chase down the ball and force the Mainz backline into mistakes.

The substitute number 9 nutmegs past Bell and attempts to skip past another Mainz before being brought down just outside the Mainz area. No foul though.

Rössing-Lelesiit does well to get to the byline on the break and it looks as though he delivers a great ball into the six-yard area, but it had gone out of play.

The Hamburg No.8 clears a Mainz cross out for a corner and even in the closing minutes, he's battling for every blade of grass. A superb shift.

It could have been the fifth for Hamburg against the 05ers! Good control from the substitute Baldé to keep his cool just outside the Mainz boss and take aim at goal. It goes just wide of the upright!

The Hamburg man is hurt in a duel up against Hanche-Olsen and is down hurt. The medical staff are on the pitch as the game is briefly paused.

Another great forward sequence from Hamburg led by Vušković from the back. He is fouled, but the ball is picked by and eventually finds the feet of Glatzel with the referee happy to play on. Glatzel has a go from just outside the box, but it's well saved.

Another superb clearance from 18-year-old Vušković, who has shown outstanding quality at the back and aided Hamburg's efforts in maintaining the clean sheet thus far.

The races of both Königsdörffer and Dompé are run for today, with Glatzel and Baldé their respective replacements.

And with that third, Hamburg have eclipsed their tally of three strikes across the 2025/26 Bundesliga campaign thus far.

It's a wasted effort from the Frenchman who is found at the end of a brilliant Hamburg counter led by Königsdörffer. The eventual shot flies just wide of the top right corner.

Now it's Hamburg's turn to combine with Philippe who drifts into the central areas just outside the Mainz penalty box and tests Rieß from range with a fizzer. It's well saved by the Mainz keeper.

Mainz players are finding it hard to attack the Hamburg box in any meaningful fashion. Lee is the latest one to be blocked out by a HSV man.

Mainz's first proper shot on target and it's a well-struck effort from range from Sano in midfield, the Japanese forcing a full-stretch save from the Hamburg stopper.

As evident in the numbers already, Philippe and Dompé are doing a good job of stretching the Mainz defence with their runs in behind.

It is now Mainz's turn to win the ball back and convert it into a chance. They almost do so perfectly with a cut-back shot from just outside the area, but it is blocked and rolls through to the goalkeeper.

He skips past one, dribbles past the second and is ultimately halted by the third Mainz man, but Dompé's confidence on the flanks is through the roof, much like his Hamburg team-mates'.

There's some shirt tugging going on out there, Elfadli on Nebel just outside the Hamburg box. A potential opportunity for Amiri from just under 25 yards out.

Now Hamburg do well to win the ball back in midfield and play through Dompé on the left. He feeds it to Königsdörffer in the middle of the box, but his first-time effort is straight at the goalkeeper.

The Frenchman does well to control the ball just outside the box and volleys towards Rieß. The shot is easily gathered, however.

Elfadli is down on the ground after taking the brunt of an Amiri shot from just outside the box. The medical staff are looking after him as the game is paused.

The youngster halts a Mainz sequence near the touchline and does well to win a throw-in and help HSV recover possession briefly.
