ANOTHER FIVE FOR DORTMUND AS HAALAND SPREE CONTINUES

Dortmund have scored five goals for the second successive match in what was a thoroughly deserved victory, but once again Erling Haaland will take the headlines after scoring twice in a 25-minute outing as a substitute! What a signing he has proved to be already!

CORDOBA HITS THE POST!

It's almost a carbon copy of Dortmund's second goal as a long ball forward catches the home defence napping. Hummels misjudges the bounce and suddenly Cordoba is clean through on goal. His shot beats Bürki but comes back off the post. The rebound falls at the feet of Jakobs, who fires wide under pressure - but it wouldn't have counted anyway as the referee's assistant has his flag raised for offside.

HERE WE GO AGAIN!

Florian Kainz has replaced Jan Thielmann is midfield for Cologne, but there are no changes from the hosts. Dortmund have the lead, but they’re not yet home and dry. The last time they had a two-goal lead at the break at home was on Matchday 16 against Leipzig in a game that ended 3-3. That may be unlikely again here, but you do get the sense more goals are to come!

HISTORY FOR HAALAND

No player in Bundesliga history has ever scored five goals in their first two league games.
87'

HAALAND BRACE!

Wow! Just wow. Dortmund break again and when Dahoud gets the ball in midfield he looks up and spies Haaland making a run. He gets into the box and takes the ball past Horn before coolly stroking over the line from a tight angle. That's five goals in less than 40 minutes of play for the Norwegian.

HAALAND MAKES HISTORY

The forward is the first Dortmud player to score for goals for the club in his first two games.
85'

HAKIMI GOES CLOSE!

A brilliant, sweeping counter-attack from Dortmund. Brandt sprays the ball wide to Hakimi on the right. He tears forward to the edge of the box, where he plays a quick one-two with Sancho before smashing a low shot at goal from a tight angle. Horn produces a good save to prevent an even bigger margin of victory.
81'

WIDE FROM SANCHO

Hakimi, who has again been excellent here, sprints down the right and lays the ball off for Sancho, who takes a touch before immediately getting off a shot that rolls inches wide of the far post.

SUBS ON BOTH SIDES

Dortmund captain Reus is replaced in midfield by Dahoud, while Rexhbecaj replaces Uth for the visitors.

HAALAND SCORES!

That's now four goals in two games for the 19-year-old, who has surely put the game to bed for Dortmund. Hakimi wriggles free of his marker down the right and a combination of Reus and Sancho lay the ball off to Brandt, whose shot is saved. The rebound falls at the feet of Haaland, who strokes home from close range.

ATTACKING CHANGE FOR COLOGNE

Aware that Dortmund have been vulnerable at the back recently - they conceded eight goals in their three league outings prior to this one - Cologne boss Gisdol brings on a striker in Modeste for defender Ehizibue.
70'

CHANCE FOR HECTOR!

Ehizibue is given acres of space down the Cologne right and he swings in a brilliant cross into the Dortmund box. Hector times his run perfectly and beats Hummels to the ball, but he can't quite direct his header on goal and it goes wide. The Cologne captain remains on the ground in frustration - he knows that was a glorious chance to get his side back in the game.
66'

HAALAND COMES ON

The 19-year-old is on the pitch now, having replaced Hazard in attack. He immediately has a chance to score after Reus plays him in, but the Norwegian can't get the ball out of his feet quickly enough and a defender slides in to block his attempted shot.
65'

UTH OFF THE MARK!

Schalke loanee Uth got an assist for his hometown club last week and has now scored to reduce the deficit. Dortmund struggle to clear a corner and a long ball is played back over to the left. The striker takes a touch and drills a fantastic low shot into the far corner.

HERE COMES HAALAND!

The Dortmund winter arrival is getting stripped off on the bench as he prepares to make his home debut for the club. Not exactly what Cologne would have wanted at 3-0 down.
59'

EIGHT IN EIGHT FOR SANCHO

Sancho has eight Bundesliga goals in his last eight outings, making him the club's top scorer this season with 11. He also has 11 assists, just one fewer than Thomas Müller at Bayern.
58'

MIDFIELD TUSSLE

Outrageous stuff... we haven't had a clear-cut chance for a couple of minutes now! The teams are battling it out in midfield in what is potentially a key period of the game. If Cologne can pull a goal back then they'd have momentum to push for a comeback, while Dortmund are obviously doing all they can to kill the match off with a fourth goal.
55'

UTH... BUT NO!

The chances are coming thick and fast now and Uth has an opportunity to pull a goal back for the visitors. Bürki stands tall and gets a hand to his close-range effort before turning around and grabbing the ball on the line. That's as close as Cologne have come to scoring here.
53'

OVER FROM SANCHO!

An unbelievable cross from Guerreiro from the left slicing between the Cologne defence and goalkeeper. It comes to the unmarked Sancho at the back post, but he can't quite take the sting off the ball and it flies narrowly over.
51'

JUST WIDE FROM HAKIMI

A brilliant counter from Dortmund, with Hazard leading the charge. Quick one-touch passing appears to have undone the Cologne defence but Reus' final ball for Brandt is just too strong, forcing him wide. They do well to recycle possession though and work the ball to the right to Hakimi, who pings a powerful shot just wide of the far post.
49'

SANCHO GETS HIS GOAL!

After getting a goal and an assist last week, the England international has repeated the feat today. Dortmund break forward at pace and Reus slides the ball forward into Sancho's path. He twists and shimmies, completely outfoxing Czichos, before slamming home Dortmund's third.

WHAT A HALF FROM HUMMELS!

The Dortmund centre-back has had a storming first 45 minutes, with two raking passes forward leading to both of his side’s goals. He’s also had a header hit the bar and won 89 per cent of all his challenges – more than any other player on the pitch.  He, and Dortmund, have been brilliant so far and the lead is thoroughly deserved.
45'

GUERREIRO SHOT BLOCKED

A sudden change of pace from Guerreiro on the edge of the box sees him surge past two defenders. He drills a low shot towards the far post but it's blocked by the outstretched leg of a defender.
39'

HAZARD DENIED BY HORN!

The Belgian attacker is played through on goal by a lovely pass from Guerreiro, but Horn is quick off his line to narrow the angle and make a big save.
38'

GLIMMER OF HOPE FOR COLOGNE

Uth with a lovely pass through the legs of Hummels on the edge of the box and into the path of Jakobs, who takes a touch but is just nudged off the ball by Akanji, allowing Bürki to pounce off his line and smother the danger.
36'

TWO FROM FOUR

The hosts have scored with two of their four shots on goal so far in this match, while three of their efforts have been on target (Hummels' header off the bar).

SLICE OF HISTORY FOR REUS

The Dorrtmund captain moves into joint 26th place in the all-time Bundesliga scoring charts with his 126th top-flight goal, level with Martin Max (father of Augsburg defender Philipp).
29'

REUS SCORES!

Another absolutely brilliant long ball from the back by Hummels catches the Cologne defence off guard. Reus peels along the back line in a bid to avoid the offside trap and races through on goal before coolly slotting past Horn. The referee initially blows for offside, but the goal stands after consulting VAR.

UTH TESTS BÜRKI

The new Cologne attacker plays a one-two on the edge of the Dortmund box and tears towards the byline to collect the return pass. It's a very tight angle and Uth attempts to lift the ball towards Cordoba at the back post - it almost catches Bürki out, but the goalkeeper catches the ball at the second attempt.
23'

DELIGHTFUL FROM DORTMUND

Dortmund's attacking players put on a bit of a show with some wonderful one-touch passing in the final third, keeping the Cologne defenders chasing shadows. They almost get in behind as Brandt latches on to Hazard's lofted pass, but after some brilliant control to bring it down, he's quickly closed down by a defender and the chance fizzles out.
20'

HUMMELS OFF THE BAR

One of those Dortmund attempts on goal was a header from Hummels shortly after Reus' free-kick. The defender was first to the ensuing corner and thumped a header off the woodwork with Horn well beaten.
15'

DORTMUND IN CONTROL

The hosts have had 64.2 per cent of possession so far, won 64.3 per cent of all challenges and had three efforts on goal to Cologne's one.
14'

SO CLOSE FROM REUS!

The Dortmund captain bends a delicious effort over the wall towards Horn's near post, but the goalkeeper scurries across and makes a good save for a corner.

FREE-KICK TO DORTMUND

After consulting VAR, the referee has changed his original decision and given the home team a free-kick right on the edge of the Cologne penalty area. Reus and Guerreiro are over the ball.

A lightning-fast Dortmund break after neat interplay in midfield and all of a sudden Hakimi is charging into the box. Bornauw slides in to end the move and the referee points to the penalty spot!

COLOGNE SHAKEN

The visitors are seemingly still trying to get that early goal out of their system. They're keeping possession at the back in a bid to get a feel for the ball, but they haven't seriously troubled Dorrtmund yet.

EARLY LEAD FOR DORTMUND!

Hummels picks out Reus with a stunning pass forward, and from there Cologne are undone very quickly. The ball is worked out to the right to Sancho, who bides his time before playing a low cross into the middle for the unmarked Guerreiro, who slots a first-time shot in from around 10 yards out!

Matchday 19 is officially up and running! Game on!

MINUTE OF SILENCE

Kick-off will be under way shortly, following a minute's silence for former Dortmund player Hans Tilkowski.

HISTORY WITH DORTMUND

BVB have won their last three meetings with Cologne, scoring five without reply in the most recent encounter on home soil in September 2017. However, before then the Billy Goats enjoyed a six-game unbeaten run against Dortmund that included two wins and four draws. Overall, Dortmund have won 37 of 87 Bundesliga matches against today's opposition, while there have been 23 draws and 27 victories for Cologne.

FAVRE WANTS “MORE CONCENTRATION”

After conceding three goals in Augsburg last week, Favre is understandably keen to tighten things up at the back for this game. “We need to play with more concentration and anticipate a few situations better, both in defence and in attack,” he said at his pre-match press conference. “When we have the ball we need to be thinking about what happens if we lose it.”

GISDOL: “THE TEAM IS ENJOYING IT”

Gisdol may have joked before the game about literally parking the team bus in front of goal to stop Dortmund forward Erling Haaland, but it would be a mistake to underestimate his side, who are on a four-game winning run. “The team’s enjoying the way we’re playing,” he said at his pre-match media briefing. “Now we want to go to the next level.”

COLOGNE TEAM NEWS

Billy Goats boss Markus Gisdol has named an unchanged side from the one that beat Wolfsburg so impressively last week. As such, youngsters Katterbach (18), Thielmann (17) and Jakobs (20) all begin again, while captain Jonas Hector continues in central midfield and Jhon Cordoba - who has six goals in his last seven games - is up front.

DORTMUND TEAM NEWS

The big news out of the home camp is that hat-trick hero Erling Haaland is once again on the bench. Head coach Lucien Favre had indicated that might be the case given that the 19-year-old is still not quite at 100 per cent fitness, so he joins fellow attackers Paco Alcacer, Gio Reyna and Mario Götze among the substitutes. Lukasz Piszczek starts in what looks to be a 3-4-3 formation, with Achraf Hakimi in midfield and Marco Reus, Jadon Sancho and Thorgan Hazard up top.
