Game over!

No need for injury time. Leverkusen have run riot in Augsburg to stretch their unbeaten record against  Die Fuggerstädter  to 16-games in Germany's top flight. Man of the match? Kevin Volland, who grabbed a goal and two assists despite being forced to play wide on the left due to Leon Bailey's injury. Leverkusen haven't lost any of their games this season against sides currently in the bottom half of the table and have moved into the top six, for the time being at least, on the back of tonight's win.

Hope for Augsburg?

Leverkusen have conceded 12 goals this season in the 15 minutes after the restart. Only Düsseldorf have conceded more (14).

Make it four!

This time Leverkusen get an offside decision to go their way as Brandt taps home at the back post after Kohr somehow failed to get a touch on Volland's cross. No less that the tirelss midfielder has deserved tonight.

Long lost Lucas?

Alario has been full of running, but has also had the least touches of any Leverkusen player tonight with 35. Other than the goal he had ruled out for offside, he hasn't posed as much of a threat as some expected tonight.
80'

Anything left in Augsburg?

Tonight's hosts have had at least three shots on goal in the second half of every Bundesliga game this season. So far against Leverkusen, they've only had one. Hradecky has had almost nothing to do.
79'

Interested onlooker

World Cup winner Sami Khedira is in the stands at the WWK-Arena, but hasn't seen Rani have one of his better games as he gets fouled by Baumgartlinger.
77'

Havertz excelling once again

There aren't enough superlatives to quite cover how good a season Kai Havertz is having. Tonight's performance is just another demonstration of that fact. The 19-year-old has had the most shots of any player on the pitch, had 69 touches and won 68 per cent of his challenges.
73'

If you hooold on....

Assuming Augsburg don't pull of an unlikely comeback in the closing stages, this will be the 8th time this season they've dropped points from a winning position. If they'd held on to the 20 points they've dropped after taking the lead, they'd be in the top six, which is where Leverkusen are heading.
72'

Schieber to save the day?

A quiet night for Richter comes to an end. No re-run of his two.goal heroics against Stuttgart and Frankfurt as he's replaced by Schieber.
68'

Tough night for the hosts

Augsburg are staring their first defeat under Martin Schmidt in the face. It started so well for the hosts, but since taking the lead it's been virtually one way traffic in favour of the visitors. The hosts are still yet to have a shot on goal in the second half.
67'

Brandt stings Kobel's palms

More risky play at the back from Augsburg sees Leverkusen win the ball in the final third. With players to his left and right though, Brandt has a crack from the edge of the area, which is pushed away from danger by Kobel.
66'

Fun fact: Jonathan Tah

Tah had only scored once in the Bundesliga before this season, but has quadrupled his tally with three successful efforts in the current campaign. All four of his goals in Germany's top flight have come from set-pieces.
63'

Fun fact: Kai Havertz

Havertz has 14 goals to his name this season. The last teenager to score more in a single season was Andre Schürrle, who netted 15 times in the 2011/12 campaign.
61'

Tactical tweak from Schmidt

With Koo on for Danso, Khedira has now dropped into the Augsburg backline.
60'

Fan-TAH-stic!

A clumsy challenge from Schmid fells Volland. The free-kick is whipped in by Brandt, forcing Kobel to make a save, but his clearance is poor and lands at the feet of Tah, who leathers the ball past the young keeper. This time it counts. No doubt about it.

Chalk another one off

Leverkusen are denied another goal for offside. Havertz flicks on Brandt's corner at the near post and with Tah loitering Danso intervenes by heading into his own net. The question is whether Tah was offside when Havertz headed the ball. The answer is yes and he was active.
54'

Mesmerising play

With Augsburg struggling to get themselves back into the game, Leverkusen are bossing possession and playing short, intricate passes with relative ease as they probe for weakness.
51'

Injury fear?

Wendell has picked up a knock and stayed down in his own area. The Brazilian is hobbling on the sidelines and may not be able to continue.
51'

Haveeeerrrrrtttttzzzzz!

Out of nowhere, Leverkusen take the lead for the first time in the game. Volland carves out a cross from the left, Havertz ghosts in front of Stafylidis to get a delicate touch on the ball which loops up and over Kobel. Another sensational moment from a sensational player having a sensational season. That's his 14th goal in 2018/19.

All square at the break

Augsburg and Leverkusen have kept up their record of both always getting on the scoresheet at the WWK-Arena. The sides are elvel at the break, but Augsburg are living dangerously and need to pose a greater threat after the break if they want to collect a third win out of three under Martin Schmidt.

Off the bar!

Hahn concedes possession needlessly inside his own half. Leverkusen move the ball quickly, but when Brandt plays in Alario, the Argentinian watches on in anguish as his effort comes crashing back off the bar. What a chance to land a hammerblow on the stroke of half-time.

Augsburg have a shot

The first one since they opened the scoring. Gregoritsch chances his arm from range, but his shot his Row Z instead of testing Hradecky.
43'

Augsburg paying close attention to Alario

With Leverkusen looking to break in transition, Gouwelleuw puts in a rather robust challenge on Alario. Augsburg have kept touch tight with the Argentinian, which is making it difficult for him to get involved in the build-up play.
40'

Havertz's header...

...goes over the bar. Leverkusen are starting to turn the screw given how little pressure is being put on their backline. Augsburg are allowing the visitors to play their game which is a dangerous approach.
39'

Strong from Kobel

Volland's cross doesn't match the quality of his first touch, but he wins a corner, which is worked short to Brandt's whose delivery forces Kobel to punch clear at full stretch.
37'

The flag is up again

Weiser is involved once again as he finds space out wide on the right to drill a low cross into the mix. Brandt fails to get the vital touch before Volland fires wide, but the offside flag was up against Weiser. He needs to time his runs better.
33'

Augsburg backing off

Marco Richter has had three of Augsburg's six shots so far tonight, but the last of them came in the 11th minute. Augsburg's attacking threat has dried up after seeing their lead last less than four minutes.
29'

What a chance for Bayer

Leverkusen have settled into their rhythm with Augsburg sitting a little deeper. After Brandt and Havertz failed to produce a shot despite having Augsburg defenders dropping like flies, Weiser whips a cross in that Alario sends wide with a first-time volley. The shot had to come from Brandt or Havertz.
27'

More goals to come

Brandt's corner is flicked on dangerously at the front post by Aranguiz, but there are no takers for Leverkusen in the danger area. If you were looking for goals in an open, attacking game, then you've come to the right place.
24'

Double up not working?

Stafylidis and Max are both left-backs by trade which would make you think they'd do a good job of marshalling that flank for Augsburg. Right now, Weiser is regularly finding time and space to pose a threat for Leverkusen though.
24'

Tough pill to swallow

Leverkusen think they've taken the lead. Bender picks out a peach of a 40-yard pass to play Weiser in behind a static Stafylidis. The right-back's first touch takes the pace off the ball before he squares for Alario to tap into an empty net. The goal is chalked off though after a VAR review shows that Weiser was in an offside position. There were centimetres in it!
15'

An immediate response from Volland!

One aerial battle won and two passes is all Leverkusen need. Bender wins the header in midfield, Brandt finds Aranguiz, who slices Augsburg's backline to play Volland through one-on-one with Kobel. The German striker needs one touch to steady himself before smashing the ball into the back of the net. All square in Augsburg.

Open game

It's safe to say Augsburg are showing a willingness to take risks tonight. Some of their build-up play has been adventurous, but it's keeping Leverkusen guessing.
10'

Chance for Kai

Leverkusen have recovered from the early scare and almost take the lead when Wieser plays Havertz in behind. The in-form youngster can't beat Kobel from a tight angle though.
9'

Alario pops up

The first sight of goal for Alario is a tricky one to take. Weiser's cross is inviting, but he can't control his effort in the air under pressure from Gouwelleuw.
9'

Another Augsburg chance

Two corners follow for the hosts. Hradecky comes off his line unconvincing for the first, but gets away with it. The second isn't dealt with by Bayer's backline. Gregoritsch flicks on for Richter who fires over.
5'

Oooof - that was close!

Augsburg break down the other end from the free-kick as Richter releases Hahn. The ball works his way to Baier 35 yards out who spots Hradecky off his line before fizzing a fierce volley at goal that is tipped over by the scrambling Finn.
4'

Strong start from Leverkusen

Havertz is getting some early touches of the ball which is good news for Leverkusen. An early free-kick from Brandt provides no threat.
キックオフ

Back in the top six?

Leverkusen have a chance to reclaim a UEFA Champions League qualification spot to put pressure on their fellow European hopefuls, while Augsburg could guarantee their safety if they can make it thre wins out of three under Martin Schmidt.

Goals guaranteed?

Leverkusen have scored an average of almost three goals a game (19) in their seven trips to Augsburg. Both sides netted at least once in all of those meetings at the WWK Arena and given their propensity to push forward, that run is likely to continue tonight!

One to watch: Leverkusen

Lucas Alario has had a tough season playing second fiddle to Kevin Volland, but tonight he has a chance to make an impact in his first start since Matchday 22. The Argentinian came off the bench to score in Leverkusen's 2-0 win over Nuremberg to move onto four for the season, five shy of his tally of nine from the previous campaign. He's a real poacher in the box.

One to watch: Augsburg

Keep an eye on Augsburg striker Marco Richter. The Germany Under-21 international was the Bundesliga player to have had the most shots without scoring this season. That was until he became the first Augsburg player to score back-to-back braces against Frankfurt and Stuttgart. Surely a third straight brace is asking for too much - or is it?

Under the Friday night lights!

Leverkusen  have never lost to Augsburg in 15 Bundesliga games (W9, D6), but tonight's hosts are coming into the encounter on the back of their biggest win in Bundesliga history - 6-0 vs Stuttgart. While seeing six goals tonight wouldn't come as a surprise, seeing one team score them all would.
