Full-time: Elversberg 3-0 Braunschweig
Within ten minutes, Elversberg decided the match early in the game and have made the season finale next week really exciting. Braunschweig were clueless over the full 90 minutes - for them, the relegation battle now looks bleak. The 3-0 scoreline is fair and could have been even higher.

Feil blasts it over
Another Elversberg shot from distance just before the final whistle - Hofmann stretches himself, but the ball sails over the crossbar

Both goalscorers are done for the day
A triple substitution is made: Schnellbacher, Feil and Schmahl come on for the final minutes - among others, Asllani gets to take his boots off.

Braunschweig allowed to play a bit
Elversberg give the visitors some space to knock the ball around in the final ten minutes or so. However, it still doesn't lead to any real danger. There are also several minor fouls in midfield.

Only 20 minutes left!
The match seems decided, Braunschweig are no longer putting up a fight and Elversberg are conserving some energy for the season finale (possibly for promotion?) against Schalke. Few goalscoring opportunities in the last few minutes.
64'
Half as long
Braunschweig can only win back a lost ball after almost 20 seconds. Elversberg does it in about ten! Indicative of the match result.

Good new signings
First Asllani scores, then he sets up Damar, then Zimmerschied assists Damar - new signings have been involved in 50 of Elversberg's 62 goals this season!

A shot from the visitors!
Although not on target, it still leads to a corner. Phillipe delivers it, Kristof clears easily with his fist.

Similar start
Once again, the hosts are putting Braunschweig under increasing pressure and have created several half-chances in the last few minutes. Most recently, Asllani put the ball just centimetres wide of the post after a low cross.

The Asllani curl
Without a proper passing option, the goalscorer takes a shot himself from the edge of the penalty area - not a bad attempt as the ball just misses the top corner!

Danger again!
Fellhauer's corner from the right is headed just wide of the right post by Baum. Shortly after the restart, the Saarlanders continue where they left off.
46'
Let's continue!
How many goals will be scored in the second half? Braunschweig make a double substitution: Szabó and Bičakčić come on for Köhler and Tachie.

It could have been 4-0 again!
Zimmerschied delivers an outside-of-the-foot pass from the half position on the left to the far post, where Petkov gets to it, but Hofmann pulls off a massive save and smothers the ball beneath himself. That one was practically in...

Misunderstanding
The Saarlanders bear down on goal in a three-on-two situation - Zimmerschied opts for the 'wrong' pass and plays it through to Asllani, who mis controls it, allowing Hofmann to easily collect.
38'
Corner after corner
Now already the third corner in a row, which Fellhauer delivers. Braunschweig seem to have regained some composure, clearing it cleanly away.

Nearly the fourth!
Zimmerschied is played through and stands alone in front of Hofmann, who makes himself big and manages to save the chip. That was close again!
32'
Two substitutions
Braunschweig's change is probably a tactical one due to the scoreline whereas Elversberg have to substitute due to injury. After a defensive action on the touchline, Pinckert seemed to have pulled his thigh muscle, and is now replaced by Rohr.

Another record
Three goals in the first 21 minutes - Elversberg had never achieved that before in the Bundesliga 2.

Asslani with a header!
Hoffmann manages to save it, as the striker had to lean back too much to meet the cross.

Köhler is cautioned
The midfielder stops an Elversberg counter-attack a bit too harshly, for which he sees yellow.

First for Damar
His first brace in the Bundesliga 2. That was his ninth goal of the season.
21'
Quickfire brace!
Damar again. Just three minutes after his first goal! After a lovely through ball through the patchy Braunschweig defence, Damar finds himself completely alone in front of Hoffmann, dribbles past Bičakčić and then coolly slots it home.
18'
All over already?
Elversberg quickly extend their lead to 2-0. Asslani finds himself on the left side and then picks out Damar at the far post, who only needs to tap in after the striker's cross. Is everything already settled early on here?

Always falling behind early
The opener was the 14th goal conceded by Eintracht in the opening quarter of an hour - no other team has been breached as often in the first 15 minutes.
11'
The opener had been coming!
Braunschweig can't play it out properly from the back. Petkov's first shot is blocked, but Asslani takes the rebound directly on the volley and strikes it firmly into the left corner. Elversberg are putting pressure on in the promotion race!
9'
Getting more concrete
Petkov seeks a path to the byline and lays it back to Asslani, who only gets a toe to it, so the shot doesn't go on target. Shortly after, Zimmerschied shoots from a very tight angle. Hoffmann saves.
7'
Feeling each other out
The hosts are trying to dictate play, but haven't really reached dangerous areas yet. Eintracht are keen to get the ball quickly behind the last line of defence.
3'
Twice a bit of danger
First, Asslani makes his way forward and is stopped just before taking a shot. In the counter-attack, it's Phillipe who plays the pass to Tachie a bit too hard.

And we're off!
The ball is rolling at the Kaiserlinde.

Rohr returns
Maximilian Rohr missed the last three matches due to injury, but is now back in the squad at least.
Team news
Both teams have only one change compared to last week, with each captain returning from a yellow card suspension and replacing the player who had taken their place and captain's armband. Robin Fellhauer plays for Elversberg instead of Carlo Sickinger, whilst Jannis Nikolaou comes into the squad for Braunschweig in place of Bičakčić.
Braunschweig starting XI
Hoffmann - Rittmüller, Jaeckel, Nikolauo, Köhler, Bell Bell - Baas, Krauße, Tempelmann - Philippe, Tachie
Elversberg starting XI
Kristof - Baum, Pinckert, Le Joncour, Neubauer - Sickinger, Şahin - Petkov, Damar, Zimmerschied - Asllani
Permutations
Eintracht Braunschweig can secure their safety in the Bundesliga 2 if either: they win at Elversberg and Münster fail to win, or if they draw and Münster lose. A draw for Braunschweig also guarantees, under any circumstances, that they can't finish below 16th and be automatically relegated this season.
Daniel Scherning on Elversberg
"The Elversberg players always look for footballing solutions. Along with that, their great strength is also being very intense and having strong running. They are right at the top in all running statistics. It will be a very complex task that awaits us."
Horst Steffen on facing Braunschweig
"We want to thank our fans in the last home match for their loyalty and support throughout the whole year. I hope that we can achieve this with a good game, deliver a strong performance and get a result."
Unwanted record
That loss at home to Braunschweig was the joint heaviest in Elversberg's short Bundesliga 2 history,
Big wins
Elversberg won the reverse fixture 3-0 - the same scoreline they posted at home last term. Eintracht ran out 5-0 winners in the only other Bundesliga 2 meeting between the clubs.
