Kingsley Coman: The main thing to do is to stay calm and impose our style of play. We’re experienced enough to withstand any early pressure from the opposition, but of course compared to the first leg we need to improve a little bit in terms of putting pressure on the opposition, as well as taking our chances.

Live: all the build-up and reaction to the German clubs' European action this week What wasn’t quite up to scratch in the first leg in Munich from your point of view?

Coman: The game began perfectly with the goal after just two minutes, but after that we weren’t really able to put pressure on Benfica or create chances. The Portuguese side were very solid at the back, defended quite high and it was far from easy to create goalscoring opportunities. We have to do better in that aspect in the second leg. In addition to that, their attacking potential showed that they can be dangerous. That said, we put in a good defensive performance. What would be an ideal scenario in the Estadio da Luz?

Coman: The result from the first leg is not a bad result. The most important thing was to win and not to concede, which we managed. Now we know that if we score, we’ll have a very good chance of qualifying for the semi-finals. Ideally we’d take the lead, because that would kill the game. I’m convinced of that.

Coman: Absolutely. Of course it’ll be a really tough game in Lisbon, and we will have to be at our best, but if we play with complete concentration from the first minute and remain as aggressive as we are disciplined, then we’ll qualify.

Coman: I joined Bayern eight months ago to win as many trophies as possible. Last season with Juventus I was in the final of the Champions League. I really, really want to win the Champions League - the sooner the better.

Coman: Absolutely. Franck was out of action for months, and for that time I couldn’t train or play with him. His return, however, has been incredibly impressive. I’ve always said that he’s not competition for me, but an example. He has experienced the highs and lows time and again but has always come back - just as he has done again this time. You can only have massive respect for him.
