Borussia Dortmund's Christian Pulisic has become the youngest American ever to feature in a World Cup qualifier aged 17 years, six months and 13 days.
The attacking midfielder, who won the German U17 league title with BVB last year, came on for Sporting Kansas City midfielder Graham Zusi with nine minutes left to play of the USMNT'S 4-0 win over Guatemala in Columbus, Ohio.
"Our goal was to get Christian Pulisic some minutes," said US coach Jürgen Klinsmann. "Even in his limited minutes you could see the talent he has."
The appearance means Pulisic is no longer eligible to represent Croatia - the country of his grandfather's birth.
The USA are second in Group C, three points behind Trinidad and Tobago with two games left to play, at home to St Vincent and the Grenadines and away to the group leaders.
