Sarajevo - Borussia Mönchengladbach took a significant step towards the UEFA Europa League group stage with a 3-2 over FK Sarajevo.

Andre Hahn opened the scoring for the Foals with ten minutes on the clock after neat build-up play from Ibrahima Traore and Raffael, but a mistake by Swiss keeper Yann Sommer allowed Bojan Puzigaca to equalise shortly before the half-hour mark. Branimir Hrgota restored Gladbach's lead before the break, however, heading home from close range on 42 minutes.

The hosts improved after the restart and Haris Duljevic restored parity for the second time in the match with half an hour remaining, giving Sommer no chance with a fizzing shot from the edge of the area, but Hrgota doubled his personal tally for the evening with a rasping effort which struck the underside of the crossbar before nestling in the back of the Sarajevo net. The victory puts Lucien Favre's side in a commanding position ahead of next week's return leg at Borussia Park.
