Frankfurt - Eintracht Frankfurt's players could scarely mask their intense disappointment after their 3-3 draw in their UEFA Europa League last-32 second leg against FC Porto sent them crashing out of the competition on away goals. rounds up the post-match comments on a night of high drama in the Commerzbank Arena...

Pirmin Schwegler: We were so close to booking our tickets for the next round. We didn't make that many mistakes, but when we did they proved to be pivotal against a clinical Porto side. It's awesome to be able to play against a UEFA Champions League calibre side and give a good acount of ourselves. On the other hand though, it's annoying to fall just short. We had a great gameplan. No one can deny that we didn't deserve to qualify. Porto have the better individual players, but we closed them down, worked hard as a team only to be knocked out on away goals.

Alexander Meier: Of course we're disappointed. It was an incredible game, but to lose late on is horrible. There's no one to blame, but we made a few too many mistakes. We tried everything to win. We were clinical up front, we played long balls, yet weren't rewarded. It wasn't enough in the end. It could have been special. All we can do now is concentrate on the upcoming Bundesliga matches.

Stefan Aigner: It's difficult. You take a 2-0 lead, let them equalise and then do the exact same thing again. It's a bitter pill to swallow. We can be proud of our performances against Porto over both legs, but we're ultimately left empty-handed despite playing out of our skins.

Kevin Trapp: We should never have let this happen. We were 2-0 up and 3-2 up and should have seen the game through. Porto had the quality to take the pace out of the game at 3-3. God knows what would have happened if we had made it through. Our fans were exceptional tonight. We're really disappointed for ourselves and for them. However, what's important is that we proved we don't have to hide against a side capable of playing in the Champions League. So we've got to take that belief forward. We know we're capable of winning games against top clubs. The way we took our goals was fantastic. We'll see on Sunday whether we can move clear of the drop zone. We'll need to push ourselves to the limit once again, We're compensating for injuries, brushing off setbacks and yet always manage to come back and perform.
