FULL TIMEStuttgart fail to reach the UEFA Europa League group stages for the second season running after conceding in injury time against HNK Rijeka. There are plenty of positives for new head coach Thomas Schneider to take from the game, but in the end his side have been ruthlessly punished for their profligacy in front of goal as they crash out ot the Europa League by a 3-4 aggregate scoreline.

90+3' GOAL! Heartbreak for Stuttgart! Rijeka's clearance from a corner falls to Ibrahima Traore, who gives away possession on the halfway line allowing Ivan Mocinic to release Goran Mujanovic on the counter who fires past Sven Ulreich from just inside the area. The goal comes completely against the run of play, but what an end to the game.

90' Four minutes of time are added on at the end of the 90 minutes. Plenty of time for winning goal is either side can pluck up the courage to throw caution to the wind.

80' As it stands we're going to extra-time. Can Stuttgart find a winning goal to avoid an extra 30 minutes of action?

76' GOAL!: The change works to a tee as Ibrahima Traore breaks down the right flank before drilling a cross into the box which is turned into his own net by Luka Maric. Game on!

75' With the introduction of Mohammed Abdellaoue, Stuttgart are now playing in a 4-4-2 formation.

72'Mohammed Abdellaoue is ready to take to the field as Thomas Schneider makes an attacking substitution by bringing off Cacau, who hasn't had his best game in a Stuttgart shirt.

66' However, Stuttgart respond immediately and come within a lick of paint of taking the lead as Ibrahima Traore's marauding run ends with him cutting inside onto his favoured left foot and curling and effort just past the far post.

65' Another mistake by young centre-back Benedikt Röcker almost costs Stuttgart dearly as Rijeka Zoran Kvrzic drgas his effort just past the post.

62' With just over an hour played, Stuttgart are in complete control of proceedings and still look like the only side capable of adding to the scoreline. The hosts are turning the screw and using the space out wide to great effect. However, the all-important second goal continues to prove elusive.

59'Timo Werner squanders a chance to make an instant impact off the bench as he fires his effort from Christian Gentner's pin-point through ball straight at Rijeka keeper Ivan Vargic.

56'Stuttgart head coach Thomas Schneider makes his first change bringing on youngster Timo Werner in place of Martin Harnik.

54'Rijeka show the first signs of life in this second half as Tomecak drills over the bar from just outside the area. As they did in the first leg, the visitors are still threatening on the counter attack and Stuttgart will need to be wary of the space they're leaving in behind as they push forward in search of a second goal.

50'Stuttgart have the bit between their teeth knowing they need to score at least once more to stand a chance of qualifying for the next round and are all over their opponents. Rijeka are playing with their backs to the wall and look incredibly shaky, so surely it's only a matter of time before they concede again.

SECOND HALFStuttgart pick up where they left off immediately from the restart as Vedad Ibisevic goes within inches of converting Ibrahima Traore's cross from the left. One goal would send the tie into extra-time, two would send Stuttgart into the group stages and a goal for Rijeka, well we'll come to that when it happens...

45'HALF-TIME!:Stuttgart have dominated the visitors, but after falling behind courtesy of Rijeka's only shot on goal, will be pleased to be going in at the break with the scores level thanks to Christian Gentner's strike.

35' GOAL!:Stuttgart equalise as Christian Gentner wins the ball on the edge of the box before looping an effort into the far corner despite losing his balance as he went to take the shot. Thomas Schneider's side have demonstrated the correct response to going behind, but need to two more goals without conceding to avoid extra-time.

30'GOAL! Rijeka take the lead after an almighty mix-up in the Stuttgart defence.

25' Ibrahima Traoré then goes close for Stuttgart with a curling effort from the edge of the box, but it drifts just wide.

20'Stuttgart go close to breaking the deadlock againsr Rijeka as Arthur Boka controls Cacau's pass on his chest before drawing a good save out of Ivan Vargic with his acrobatic effort.

15'Rijeka register their first shot on goal which is comfortably saved by Sven Ulreich.

10'Cacau fancies his chances from long-range, but fires over the bar with a rather audacious attempt. However, the veteran striker goes close to setting up Martin Harnik for the opening goal seconds later. However, the Austrian can't make proper contact with his effort on goal as it trickles past the post.

5' Spured on by the home fans, Stuttgart have started brightly against Rijeka and are playing with great confidence in the opening exchanges.
