Wolfsburg’s John Brooks ruled out for at least three months
Wolfsburg’s American centre-back John Brooks will be out of action for at least three months, according to the club.
The USA international was substituted before half-time in the Wolves’ 1-0 win over Eintracht Norderstedt in the first round of the DFB Cup, and the club have now confirmed he has suffered a torn tendon in his right thigh.
Only signed from Hertha Berlin this summer, the three-month layoff will see the defender miss the vast majority of the first half of the season and leaves the Wolves light on fit recognised centre-backs ahead of their 2017/18 Bundesliga opener against Borussia Dortmund. Jeffrey Bruma is still a number of months away from a return following a knee injury and Luiz Gustavo departed for Marseille during the summer.
