Wolfsburg have responded to the injury suffered by John Anthony Brooks by signing centre-back Marcel Tisserand on loan from Bundesliga 2 club Ingolstadt.

The 24-year-old defender, who can play at centre-back or at left-back, made 28 Bundesliga appearances with Ingosltadt last season, impressing during his first season in the league, despite the club’s relegation to the second tier.

The Congo international, who becomes Jonker’s ninth signing of the summer for the Wolves, will wear the number 29 shirt at the Volkswagen Arena.

“Marcel is a player that knows the Bundesliga and can help us immediately,” said Wolfsburg sporting director Olaf Rebbe.

The first chance Wolfsburg fans will have to see their new signing will be on Saturday, when Jonker’s side travel to face Eintracht Frankfurt.
