Versatile USA star Fabian Johnson has agreed a contract extension at Borussia Mönchengladbach until 2020, the club confirmed on Thursday.
Signed from Hoffenheim in 2014, Johnson’s existing deal at the BORUSSIA-PARK was due to expire in 2018.
"It's an amazing feeling to continue being part of this fantastic club," said Johnson. "After moving here from Hoffenheim three years ago, my aim was to continue my own development and to play in Europe: I've since managed both. From that point of view, I'm very pleased to be able to continue my journey with Borussia."
Johnson also reacted to the news on Twitter:
Munich-born Johnson, who has won 50 caps for the USMNT, has endured an injury-hit campaign with the Foals, but has still managed to find the net three times in 19 appearances. He is in contention to face Wolfsburg on Matchday 33 this weekend.
