With the 2017/18 Bundesliga season almost over, it's time to honour the players who stood out from the crowd. Augsburg, Bayer Leverkusen and Hertha Berlin have all had a brilliant left-back - Philipp Max, Wendell and Marvin Plattenhardt - but which one will make your Team of the Season? Cast your vote now! Philipp Max(Augsburg)

Perhaps it was sessions in the back garden with his dad, former Bundesliga top scorer Martin, that honed his crossing ability, and there is certainly something about Max's coolness and quality in the final third that surely rubbed off from his prolific father. The Augsburg man has — without a doubt — joined the European elite this season.

Wendell (Bayer Leverkusen)

Every forward-thinking team should have a Brazilian left-back, and Leverkusen's very own South American artist in the role has been as effective going forward as ever. The former Gremio man has also been much-improved in his defensive duties, making him a valuable asset for coach Heiko Herrlich.

Marvin Plattenhardt (Hertha Berlin)

If Hertha have been stingy this season — they boast the joint-second-best defensive record after Matchday 31 — Plattenhardt has been central to the capital club playing Mister Scrooge. His jump into the Germany squad has been mutually beneficial with his nation benefitting from his talents, while Hertha have reaped the rewards of the confidence boost his international status has given him. His talent for picking out the top corner with a free-kick gives coach Pal Dardai an extra, very welcome weapon.
