Munich - FC Bayern München winger Franck Ribery continues to make good progress in his bid to return to full match fitness following a long-term ankle problem.

The 32-year-old Frenchman, who has been out of action since March and only started running again last week, completed another light individual session at Bayern's Säbener Straße training base on Thursday.

Benatia nearing return

Bayern fans will also be delighted to learn that Medhi Benatia is likewise up and running again. The Moroccan centre-back is recovering from a thigh injury sustained in the 2-1 win away to TSG 1899 Hoffenheim on Matchday 2.

"I've had to watch the team from the sidelines for too long," Benatia told fcbayern.tv. "But I'm feeling a lot better now. I hope to be back in team training in 10-14 days."

The Bundesliga leaders resume their title defence with a trip to SV Werder Bremen's Weser Stadium on Saturday 17 October.
