The Gabonese frontman started the day one goal behind Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski in the scoring charts but drew level with the Pole when his classy volley put Dortmund 2-1 up against Bremen.
Aubameyang then moved to 31 goals for the Bundesliga season by calmly slotting in an 89th-minute penalty to make it 4-3. That strike ensured Dortmund held off Hoffenheim for third to earn a direct place in next season’s Champions League group stage.
