Nuremberg maintained their flawless start to the season with a hard-earned 1-0 win at promoted Regensburg. Union Berlin and Arminia Bielefeld also made it two wins from two, but fellow promotion candidates Darmstadt were held to a draw at Kaiserslautern. There was no separating St. Pauli and Dynamo Dresden on Monday, with both maintaining their unbeaten starts thanks to a 2-2 draw.

Top scorers

Ingolstadt's struggles since dropping down to the second tier continued, meanwhile, with a second successive defeat - this time at the hands of Sandhausen. Die Schanzer are one of five teams down at the bottom still searching for their first points of 2017/18. Heidenheim and Aue resume their abandoned Matchday 1 fixture on Wednesday night.

Steven Skrzybski scored a brace as Union shaded a seven-goal thriller with Kiel, while St. Pauli's Christopher Buchtmann likewise struck twice against Dresden. Bielefeld's Keanu Staude, Düsseldorf's Marcel Sobottka and Nuremberg's Kevin Möhwald are also on two goals for the season after each scoring for the second week running.
