Goalkeeper Gerhard Tremmel has joined SV Werder Bremen on loan until the end of the season from Premier League side Swansea City AFC.

"After Michael Zetterer's injury and the long absence of Raphael Wolf we needed to reinforce in goal," said Bremen's sporting director Thomas Eichin. "Gerhard Tremmel is a goalkeeper with a huge amount of experience who will support our young goalkeepers and Felix Wiedwald."

Tremmel, 37, was born in Munich and boasts 125 appearances in the Bundesliga through spells with SpVgg Unterhaching, Hannover 96, Hertha Berlin and Energie Cottbus.
