Be it Mario Götze's homecoming, Mats Hummels' return to the SIGNAL IDUNA PARK or Carlo Ancelotti's Klassiker debut, there will no shortage of subplots when FC Bayern München and Borussia Dortmund lock horns in the Supercup 2016 on 14 August (kick-off 20:30CEST/18:30GMT).

This season's curtain-raiser will also be of added interest to Official Fantasy Bundesliga tacticians as they prepare to submit their final squads for Matchday 1 of the 2016/17 Bundesliga campaign.

The embarrassment of riches at new Bayern head coach Ancelotti's disposal is no secret. Even before the record Bundesliga champions brought in former youth player Hummels from Dortmund and UEFA EURO 2016 Best Young Player of the Tournament Renato Sanches, the mere sight of the matchday teamsheet was enough to reduce opposition teams to gibbering wrecks. Dortmund: Attack vs Defence

The same came be said of Dortmund. Last season's top Bundesliga scorers may have lost Hummels, Ilkay Gündogan and Henrikh Mkhitaryan, but Thomas Tuchel has cast the net far and wide to bring in some of European club football's most gifted individuals - all with age on their side. Marc Bartra, Raphael Guerreiro, Sebastian Rode, Mikel Merino, Emre Mor, Ousmane Dembele, Andre Schürrle and the prodigal son, Götze: whoever you choose, you will be on to a winner.
