Borussia Dortmund have bolstered their ranks for the new campaign with the acquisition of versatile FC Bayern München midfielder Sebastian Rode.

"I've been a BVB fan since I was a child and am therefore delighted that a transfer to my favourite club worked out", said Rode, who has penned a four-year deal at the SIGNAL IDUNA PARK.

A former Germany U-21 international, Rode helped Eintracht Frankfurt to Bundesliga promotion in 2012, but his career stalled somewhat at the Allianz Arena, with the now 25-year-old playing less than 400 minutes of Bayern's successful title defence in 2015/16.

"Sebastian Rode is a dynamic and tough-tackling player with an extremely valuable character. We are very pleased to have secured his services,“ said Borussia Dortmund’s sporting director Michael Zorc.

Rode represents Dortmund's fourth major summer signing after Stade Rennais FC winger Ousmane Dembele, CA Osasuna midfielder Mikel Merino and FC Barcelona defender Marc Bartra.
