1. FC Köln have welcomed back Jonas Hector to training, just over three weeks after Germany's 2-0 defeat to tournament hosts France in the semi-finals of UEFA EURO 2016.

The 26-year-old left-sided specialist started all six of the world champions' assignments in France, chipping in with one assist and the match-winning penalty against Italy in the quarter-finals.

'He's easy to work with'

"If he has the feeling that he's doing too much - which I don't anticipate - then he can do less," said Köln coach Peter Stöger from the Billy Goats' pre-season training camp in Kitzbühel, Austria. "If he thinks he needs to do more, he'll do more. That's Jonas. I'm not concerned. I've known Jonas for three years. He's easy to work with."

Köln are due to face FC Bologna (2 August) and SD Eibar (4 August) in the coming days as they step up their preparations for their opening 2016/17 Bundesliga fixture at home to SV Darmstadt on 27 August.

The Billy Goats finished ninth in the Bundesliga last season, seven points adrift of the European places.
