The versatile Martinez had missed Wednesday's first training session with a cold, while France international forward Coman had been sidelined since November with knee and ankle injuries.

Back-up goalkeeper Sven Ulreich stayed in the pool in a bid to return to fitness after muscle problems while Xabi Alonso ended the afternoon training session with his right leg bandaged after a collision with Holger Badstuber.

Some 50 journalists from around the world are following Bayern's nine-day sojourn in the Gulf state where captain Philipp Lahm is enjoying himself more than he used to during the winter break, even if he is still homesick.

"Frankly, yes," the 2014 FIFA World Cup-winning Germany international said when asked whether New Year training camps are more fun now. "Before we had a lot of very long running sessions. I can remember sometimes getting up at 7am and going running before two further training sessions in the day. Today we also work intensively, but almost always with the ball. That has changed a lot. One thing has never changed though: I don't like leaving home and my family."
