After a career spanning 22 years and 324 senior goals, former FC Bayern München striker Luca Toni retired from football last weekend at the age of 38.

In a storied career that included a FIFA World Cup triumph in 2006, two Seria A Capocannoniere awards for ending a season as top goalscorer and spells at 15 clubs, Toni bade farewell to the game by scoring a penalty in a 2-1 win for Hellas Verona FC over former club Juventus.

He also played in the Bundesliga between 2007 and 2010, scoring 38 goals in 60 Bundesliga appearances for Bayern and winning the Torjägerkanone award in 2007/08.
