Arjen Robben is hopeful he will play again for FC Bayern München this season, but Franck Ribery is a doubt to face Club Atletico de Madrid in next week's UEFA Champions League semi-final second leg.

"It's not going as well as expected, not as good as it should, but we're persisting and battling with it to try and allow me to still play a role this season," Robben told Bayern's TV channel ahead of Saturday's 1-1 draw with Borussia Mönchengladbach. The Netherlands international has not played for two months due to an adductor problem.

Ribery missed the Matchday 32 game with a back problem, and coach Pep Guardiola admitted the Frenchman may not be fit for Tuesday's return fixture against Atletico on Tuesday with Bayern trailing 1-0 from the first leg.

"At this moment in time, I don't know," said Guardiola, who brought Ribery off the bench in the Spanish capital on Wednesday. "We'll try everything to get Franck there."
